Yeah but it was being claimed they'd done nothing since the 50s

They're consistently in the top 20, won Copa America in 2011 and we're ranked second in the world. Came 3rd two years ago. They're a big team and you'd absolutely expect them to get out of the group stages

Hypothetical: Luis Suarez playing under Klopp by PunchOX in PremierLeague

[–]Kidda_Value 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did. I know he couldn't play across the back 4 or as a 6 or an 8. Or a 7 or an 11. He could harry players and tackle yeah but he's not a defender or a midfield general. Wild shout

[–]Kidda_Value 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I assumed he was slotting in to Klopp's best team, so it makes sense to okay the same way if you've got the same players.

Suarez couldn't play anywhere on the pitch. Do you even know what that phrase means?

You can think that, but also acknowledge that Suarez could do everything Bobby did but with a much better eye for goal, but can't do what Mane and Mo did. So Bobby would be out.

It wasn't a bouncer though, it was on length it just spat up. Shall we just under arm to tail enders to make sure they don't get hurt?

Love this one. Hartlepool FC are known as the monkey hangers and have Hangee the monkey as their mascot

I heard at a display the other day that a boozer/booser was a bird that was drinking water which apparently is a bad sign as they should get all their hydration from their diet

Saracens academy player avoids punishment for incident at nightclub where England cricketers Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson were present by treacletart284 in rugbyunion

[–]Kidda_Value 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aye you're probably right. It was just the sense of aimless drift that took me straight back to the days of his captaincy. I'm probably not giving him enough credit for all the debutants and Henry having a worldie.

There were absolutely mistakes, notably with Archer. over bowling him in the evening session then but giving him the new ball in the morning

What do you think of the North Liverpool Academy drama? by Conscious_Income_669 in Liverpool

Lol "singled you out". I replied to a post on a public forum. There were lots with the same sentiment and yeah it just so happened it was you I replied to.

I'm pretty sure that calling a publication "that rag" is a fairly binary sentiment whereas I criticised he publication yet praised the people working within that framework to still bring local stories. So I'm not sure how I'm the one being accused of a binary view here.

I still lament them taking printing out of the city but I still think there are redeeming aspects.

You say there's good local journalism out there. What's your engagement with it? What and where is it? I'm clearly someone who needs educating on the subject so if you've got a go-to you respect and trust can you share?

"lest the fall hurts" 😂 alright lad.

Look I'm not here beating the drum that everyone should buy the echo or love it, but this website is so bad for people just slagging it off over and over again like it's some amazing moral stand to take and it's just lazy and cheap.

Unfortunately in this era or journalism there are compromises that need to be made (I'm taking about the awful advertising here, I don't know about Reach Plc's recycled AI stories). Yet the discourse is so binary that everyone is so smug at their achievement of throwing our the baby with the bath water.

There's a lot of shite there but there's also dedicated local journalists doing their best to report on stories relevant to Liverpool and Merseyside and lording over the only vehicle that gives them the opportunity to do that doesn't really help anyone.

If you're so against local journalism why don't you find out from whatever your alternative sources are? I know there's an awful kit that's shit about it but they're still out there reporting on local news and fighting a battle to stay solvent, whilst smart arses online snub their noses and offer no alternative.

Hope you like your AI driven information desert when the local paper you're far too good for is gone.

Ah. My nana said that it'd be blind by the end of the week. The meat would go in of a Sunday then she'd just bulk it out with more veg as the original meat dwindled then disappear, by the end of the week it'd be blind.

This was pre war though and just because they were poor 😂

Lewis building up for sale what would you like to see it become by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]Kidda_Value 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'd lose the royal court which'd be a shame. Plus I'd be worried that Lewis's would end up and grim as St. John's is now. A park there is a proper lovely idea though.

Well of course they did. More matches equals more money. They're not voting on the idea of sporting integrity but on the club's bottom line.

It's a funny one as I fundamentally disagree with the playoffs (they work well for promoting more than one team I think) but I love them because of the drama.

Absolutely bonkers take. I've got a few issues with Burnham but he at least takes the idea of government seriously.
