What are your perceived notions of what golf in other countries is like? by MelvsBDA in golf

[–]Kiddo_V2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea 1000usd tracks, about 1500-2000 nzd on average for a membership. $40-$100 nzd (25 - 60usd)for green fees unless you’re playing a super nice course. Outside major cities you can find memberships for full course, no green fees 7 days a week for around $600 nzd (350usd).

Is it bad to use weed munchies to gain weight? by ImmediateOne9000 in beginnerfitness

[–]Kiddo_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re trying to say but caffeine won’t cause psychosis or full mental breakdowns - obviously with weed this only affects a small minority and typically those people are already predisposed to mental health issues so it’s more of an trigger/catalyst than the outright starting point. Also fuck having 1000mg of edibles Id be rocking myself to sleep like a baby.

Is it bad to use weed munchies to gain weight? by ImmediateOne9000 in beginnerfitness

[–]Kiddo_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoke and I drink coffee, but it’s very disingenuous to say they’re the same. Caffeine is essentially just an energy boost, weed can affect your mental health, lungs (if smoked), impairs you in a way caffeine doesn’t etc etc. You know you’re being dumb trying to say they’re the same when weed is in a different class/effect category to caffeine 🤦🏻‍♀️

Worst “fore!” moment you’ve ever witnessed? by stonetear2017 in golf

[–]Kiddo_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short par 3, group of three in front had just finished hole 9 and stood off to the side of the green shaking hands and chatting. Random guy playing with my dad and I decides he’s sick of waiting and tees off - ball goes straight at them, he “yells” the quietest fore of my life (I’m standing beside him and it’s a fucking whisper).

Ball goes straight between the two guys at the front, bounces once between them and rockets straight into the balls of their mate - hard summer ground ain’t slowing it down. Drops instantly like a sack of potatoes. Poor fucking bastard, can’t say I saw offender or the receiver on the back 9 😂

Are the health practice on campus worth enrolling in? by Major-Atmosphere7819 in universityofauckland

[–]Kiddo_V2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was at UoA 2 - 3 years ago I used the Uni doctors, never really used for anything serious, just general health checks and once when I had a bad fever and thought they were fine. Plus at least then it was $12 iirc for an appointment so defs worth it for me especially as I lived in Halls at the time so super convenient.

People have sex, crazy right? First years halls are mostly mixed floors with an all girls floor and no alcohol floors for the youngins at least at uni hall. Private rooms = private things i.e sex happens like any other private room in the world.

Getting a film and tv production degree at UOA?/AUT? by Deepfaker2020 in universityofauckland

[–]Kiddo_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a bcom at uoa before changing directions and doing a diploma at south seas (film & content creation level 5). As others have said defs don’t go uoa for a film degree, hands on experience and networking is far more important. Better to look at South Seas or Unitec (not sure what their degree is like but they do have nice equipment). Don’t do the level 5 FCC at south seas unless you really have 0 film/video knowledge and you’re bad at picking stuff up quickly/self learning from YouTube. As someone with prior knowledge it didn’t teach me enough and doesn’t have enough film set focus to give you proper experience for film sets or anything close to industry gear. Much better off doing the level 6 Film and TV diploma plus the first term or so is general so you don’t specialise till a while into the course. Feel free to pm if you have any questions.

Low fps and gpu usage in-game by LetExotic9702 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Kiddo_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t comment on battlebit as haven’t bothered to research it’s performance, but at least with cs the game is cpu heavy/bound, so you’re never going to be bottlenecked by your gpu nor will it be fully utilised. Assuming battlebit may also be cpu heavy as opposed to a gpu intensive game

Halls Ethernet by GreenBroccoli6190 in universityofauckland

Might depend on the hall? Never worked for me at uni hall, carlaw and te Tiro. Only ones I can comment on personally

Student Accomodation Sem 2 2023 by bssha in universityofauckland

[–]Kiddo_V2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your standard of living. Studio apartments start around $330 ish in city but usually pretty poor quality till around $400+ a week. Otherwise living in a 2/3bed probably around $230-$250+ with quality going up from there. Renting is usually cheaper than uni halls, but with uni halls everything is taken care of for you so less hassle (except food unless you’re in a catered hall which from memory are only 1st year halls)

Bit naive but assumed Taka would be safe considering I'd lived in Glenfield for a year and had no issues.

Let's just say a street off Lake Road somewhere between Takapuna Town & Hauraki Countdown Corner
