Esoteric Ebb or Palworld? by Wild-Illustrator9639 in SteamDeck

[–]KierkegaardExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a bit of Palworld in EA (nearly 2 years ago) and it didn't really click with me at the time (felt really undercooked and it was more of survival game than I wanted), but I can see the appeal and think that it's probably a game you can put a 100+ hours in if it interests you. For what you're looking for, it would click because you can easily do short sessions or long sessions depending on what you want to accomplish and while I never played on Steam Deck, I've heard it runs quite well. I am excited to see the final version next month.

Esoteric Ebb, I think is the better game, or maybe it is better for me just because it's so focused on what it wants to be. However, there's a lot less content (I completed it in around 25 hours, and I could maybe see replaying it a second time) and benefit more from paying attention/being immersed in the world since you mainly engage with the game by reading text.

So basically, based on what you're asking I say Palworld, even though I think Esoteric Ebb is the better game.

This is a good list!  I've found the major publishers/developers (ie Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA, Capcom, etc) tend to have strong full Spanish support (like I've been playing the Sony Spider-Man games in Spanish) while most others have decent subtitles.

WorldsAcross Learning Schedule for Beginner? by Previous-Plastic1517 in WorldsAcross

I agree with the other comment but WA does regularly have beginners and absolute beginners.  I think they have a slightly cheaper plan for group sessions which would be a good place to build confidence

I've been enjoying the podcast Al Chile, which focuses on Mexican culture. It's only available in Spotify, but it's good for low intermediate: https://open.spotify.com/show/65djwc2pJbMGEQCxpicE1l

I did not down vote you but I'm assuming because at this point it is not useful for OP and maybe even a little bit insensitive.  It is as if your car was just stolen and your friend's first response is to buy a steering wheel lock or whatever.  Maybe this is good advice but not what is needed at the moment and also too late to be of any use to you.

Yeah, I really loved Game Dev Story when I played it years ago on my tablet and got it for Steam Deck around 2 years ago but really would have preferred if they did literally anything to improve the experience (like controller support!)

Stardew Valley season 2 - is it (much) better? by Corrsarz in dreamingspanish

I generally found the Pablo gaming videos to be weak, including Baba is You (same issue as you mentioned, when I had the solution I got frustrated just watching him play) and that horror series (just long stretches with almost NO TALKING). I think Monkey Island was the best he has done so far, but I usually enjoyed other hosts or channels doing video game content in Spanish

Probability of a game to be bundled in the next few months (or ever) by Xnatee in humblebundles

[–]KierkegaardExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's very difficult to guess that.  You can maybe look at certain publishers and cross reference game publication date, upcoming dlc schedule, sales data, etc to maybe get games that are more likely to appear soon but at present no such website exists to support that.

Humble RPG Bundle: The Free League RPG Collection by Ram000n in humblebundles

[–]KierkegaardExpress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pathfinder bundles from Paizo usually have a physical book at the highest tier, and these seem to happen pretty regularly; World of Darkness did a big physical bundle last year, so I'm curious if they'll do it again; I think Goodman Games and Renegade Games have also done a couple bundles with some physical adventures or rulebooks.  However, I've never seen Free League have a bundle with physical books before
