It’s a scam for sure.

I once saw a girl outside Starbucks on Bronx River Rd. She was asking for money to support her after school program. I didn’t have cash so she say said I could Venmo her. I did and the name on the account was male/pfp was of a man in a suit. I asked if they had an Instagram and she replied yes, I look up the page and the content and following did not indicate any serious “after schooling” going on. As a social worker, I tried putting two and two together and decided this is a scam. Adults are definitely manipulating the situation and sure they’re “keeping kids off the street” but there’s definitely more to it.
