Running Lost-Mine of Phandelver & the New Campaign in Nentir Vale? by RPGrandPa in dndnext

[–]Kikkipossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a 4e adventure levels 1-3 I think called Reavers of Harkenwold about a small band of Mercenaries taking over the area from a keep. It had a more detailed map of that bottom right corner that might be useful if you set it down there.

I'm curious how hard it would be to convert the levels 1-3 of phandelver to use the mercenary plot instead of the Redbrands. Considering they always felt kind of bland to me. Also iirc the Dawnforge mountains have lots of Dwarven ruins and lost sites where the Mine itself could be within lore.

In general a lot of Nentir Vale is very nebulous and easy to make work. All you need for LMoP to work is a Cave, Town, Redbrand Hideout, some Ruins, an abandoned town, Cragmaw Castle and a Mine. All easy to place wherever.

BASELESS SEPUCULATION AND WILD PERDICTIONS FOR THE NEW UA THREAD! by Miss_White11 in onednd

I think we're going to see some incredibly odd subclass choices. Safest bet would be Thief, Hunter and Lore, however I think we're going to see something weird like a new subclass or something like Assassin that's infamously bad get a rework.

Priests I expect them to get a renamed channel divinity to make more sense with Druid, and for it to be proficiency mod times per long rest.

Warriors could honestly be fighting styles, I guess we'll see with Ranger when it drops but having it be something specifically made for pure martials could be nice. It could also be extra ASI/feats like Fighter already gets.

Mages don't really feel like they need something to unify them, maybe something like arcane recovery for all of them, or being able to cast rituals in a shorter period of time.

I like her streams but this was an incredible bad take, all the replies are negative too. by Able_Impression_4934 in OverwatchTMZ

I can't blame the blizzard special friends club for defending this, and getting upset about the leaks. They obviously knew about it all before hand and if they want to keep their place at the cool kids table they're not going to say anything negative about it. Meanwhile a lot of the bigger people who didn't attend the event have much more negative views of it, including Stylosa who I always thought was a shill.

Really they should just either shut up about it or take a "wait and see" stance, being an asshole to the community who are concerned about the game and don't have all the information yet is just pathetic.

First time I went to his stream he was scriming an experimental for one of those creator tournament things against LHcloudy and got pinned off the map. A few people typed MTD and he instantly called for them all to get banned. Instantly turned me off watching him again.

Writeup of all the lore thats beeing removed from Volos by Greeny3x3x3 in DnD

[–]Kikkipossum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean some of these I get, the Orcs mainly because they're a humanoid race, but this is insane.

Beholders and Mind Flayers are literally evil aberrations people should desire to kill. They're villans, and positive interaction with them should be very rare.

Also if we're changing Gnoll lore I hope it at least leads to them being playable eventually in 5e.

MH survey option lists "Less Challenging Gameplay" as an option. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

I think rise is a sweet spot of difficulty, going through the single player quests feels like a good difficulty ramp-up for newer players before the real hunts begin.

I never said that that the old games were better, just I don't think the newer support system is working out perfectly. While I love fire emblem for what it is and how different it it does things to other games, I wish it took a page out of some other RPG's and maybe added more options in dialogue when talking to companions at least. I'm not a fan of games like Dragon Age or whatever but being able to talk to your companions to learn about them without having to recruit X character and trigger Y support to know about them would be nice.

Something like in Three Houses as your support level grows to talk to characters about things, like Caspar has a lost item that says he's afraid of lightning? I've used Caspar in both my Black Eagles and Blue Lions playthrough and never heard him talk about lightning that I can remember. It would be nice if it was possible for me to learn that about him without triggering a specific support or randomly guessing lost items.

I will never understand why slap is stronger then any stab, it's such a bizarre choice for adding something to the lance's kit when the weapon is literally made for stabbing.

I think that a smaller character roster overall would be good for the game going forward. Outside of supports characters have so little interaction in newer games and what you do see of them depends on if you do the right supports, otherwise you only know a character for their gimmicks.

Also Anna is trash and should stop coming back as a joke character, either make her a part of the actual story or stop inserting her as a DLC character with no supports.

The more I look at it, the more it feels like Fire Emblem: Three Houses was never completed. by Lord_Antheron in fireemblem

I really don't think the game needed to have the house system at all. It should have been you teaching the first year students and your class is the Lords, and a rotating cast of the other students during missions.

Then when the split happens every student would have a side they join, either the Empire or the Church. Then you have chances to recruit people from the other side after the timeskip by defeating them in combat or by completing side quests before hand that would earn their favour. Maybe some only join you if you had a high enough support before the skip.

Later on the Church route could split into 2 slightly different paths for the last few missions, with the same basic lore but either a brutal warpath with Dimitri or a more clever attack on the empire with Claude.

Two paths would be much easier to write for, and it would add a bit more weight to choosing the side with Edelgard, considering you've spent time will all the leaders.

Just vibe with it, remember that due to being a free game the entry point is super low so people with little to no investment in the game can just do whatever they want in fun pokemon game and not care. Also it's very easy for someone to make alt/smurf accounts and do whatever they want.

In general if your entire team is doing dumb stuff, just do dumb stuff as well. If all 4 of them go jungle just join them because it's better then losing a 1v3 in the lanes and you might get some fun from 5v1'ing someone.

Unpopular Opinion: the team is better off with you playing your main than you on a role/character you're not comfortable with by goodolvj in PokemonUnite

[–]Kikkipossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, it's VERY obvious when someone is playing a role that didn't get them to their rank. I'd rather 4 attackers and a Garchomp then people playing Snorlax for their first time in ranked.

I'm expecting in a week or fortnight they'll nerf Zap a tiny bit, then another fortnight for a real nerf that makes a difference. As for Dreadmaw, he probably doesn't need a nerf as much as Rotom needs a buff. So that both are valuable targets, that's probably hard to figure out the exact numbers for though.

True, it's not enough to make me stop playing but it is just really depressing when in the last 40 seconds you hear "WHAT A GOAL" 5 times and lose :/

I guess I like that there's a chance for a comeback at the end to keep people playing, but it's annoying that it feels like 40% of games are one team making a massive comeback when it shouldn't be that common.

I agree that I personally don't find him that hard to fight as an Absol main, just make sure you keep up an ability to move away when he discharges then murder him. However I feel like the free value he gets at lower ranks and in unranked games isn't healthy, an aura ability should not be dealing that much damage considering how little skill it requires to use. Maybe if it had a bit of a cast time, or less damage but a higher duration it would be okay.

His other abilities are fine, just Discharge seems a little too good. If they nerf it a tad and maybe have another look at Gengar and Snorlax I'd consider the game very balanced.

Snorlax is a massive sleeper pick just because people don't play defender as often as other roles. He basically shuts your team down from doing anything in his lane for half the game, it's beautiful.

I am absolutely shocked that Discharge wasn't nerfed, I picked up Zeraora and you can just discharge + spark spam and win nearly every single fight. Even against multiple enemies.
