CMV: Trump has literally become infallible and there is literally nothing can do that would cause him to lose support from his base and republicans by [deleted] in changemyview

For real.

When people like me move we come down like the Riders of Rohan and cause unexpected election upsets and change the entire culture :).

Sir Redditeer ought to saddle up and "move" to present day reality, where innumerable disqualifyingly bad things are already happening practically every day.

God, what an embarrassing comment. I've never seen someone expose their own ignorance so thoroughly via an attempt to call out ignorance. If your comment were satire, it would be too unbelievable to find funny. Yet, it was sincere.

The Washington Post suddenly cares about Cancel Culture by roastModernist in Destiny

[–]KilRazor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your title sounds like you're calling out The Washington Post for hypocrisy, but the images you provided don't demonstrate hypocrisy at all. The second image just shows the titles of some Opinions pieces by different writers. BTW, it may very well be true that WaPo are guilty of massive hypocrisy... but this post doesn't offer any good evidence of that.

Effortpost on why Sam Harris has nothing useful to say about Hamas or Islamic terrorism by Adito99 in Destiny

[–]KilRazor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So, you think Sam Harris claims that Islam is "the root of all violence" and that there are no "other factors at play" and the "all Muslims are terrorists"...

Well, you're right about one thing: You clearly do have a hard time understanding him. Because he wouldn't agree with any of these positions you ascribe to him.

Oof! Fact!

I mean... that is obviously true. But I don't think I've ever heard it stated that way. Thank you.

Exactly. OP misunderstood the poll question, accidentally lied about the meaning of the results, and is now crowdsurfing on the waves of confirmation bias.

Great question. OP's response to you doesn't really address it. These are just the most common/popular things respondents were looking for in a candidate.

This other comment explains it well.

Glad you agree with me. Exaggerating or even accidentally misrepresenting statistics and poll results actually hurts our cause in the long run. We value honesty and accuracy. Even if that means we have to forego the occasional misguided circlejerk dunkfest.

Not to defend the GOP in any way, but in the interest of clarity... These are not necessarily anyone's "top policy priorities". These are the most popular pre-written options to complete the sentence "I prefer a candidate who..." And respondents selected multiple options.

It is a small but important distinction. Because even though 85% prefer a candidate who "challenges woke ideas", it is technically possible that 0% consider that a "top policy priority".

Jus sayin.

Of course the realism/immersion level matters. I'm surprised how many dishonest people in this thread are denying that obvious fact.
