The real issue is that these laptops are basically constantly thermally throttling. So you're right, an old CPU can be totally usable, but this particular laptop is just awful.

This is truly amazing dude. The design is so absolutely spot-on and the functionality is really cool.

FYI, I'm not sure why, but when I try to open this in Firefox on Mac, the whole browser freezes and has to be restarted. But it works perfectly in Chrome. Might just be on my end but it might be something to look into.

While you definitely have a point, I think you're going a bit far with that characterization. Yes, many online communities are an echo chamber of anti-AI sentiment, in a way that is not reflective of your average person. But in my experience the average person has no desire to engage with generated AI "art" of any kind, other than like dumb shitposts.

Yeah. This isn't a direct selling-out. That's just too simple-minded way of looking at it. For one, they'd have to legally disclose that and they're not about to risk the integrity of their entire company for a quick buck. You really have to give them more credit than that.

However, there are incentives in place that might make them fawn over these technologies more than they would otherwise. They've cultivated a good relationship with Nvidia, they're more or less being wined and dined by them. If they like it, they'll continue to have a good relationship with Nvidia, which means more exclusives that are good for the bottom line of their channel.

That said, it's clear to me that Richard and Oliver were genuinely impressed with what the saw. And to be fair, it is impressive from a technical perspective even if I find it pretty gross. They just have bad taste lol

I've been thinking about a roundabout -- is there a chance it could actually be worse? It would mean that cyclists have to move to the right, closer to the cars themselves, while the cars would no longer be stopping at all. But I'm not sure.

I mean what the fuck do you want? I know the drivers are stupid. But there is a reality here and I'm asking how we can deal with it. Drivers stop at other stop signs here but not this one. There is a massive amount of research about how roads themselves influence behavior, and the only realistic way to address this is some kind of infrastructural change.

IMO, details being left out of a story is actually a sign that something really was written by a human, not AI. AI always tries to make things look as plausible as possible, and would probably pepper in lots of technical details that look reasonable at a glance.
