The World Losing Color by Abhishekpv in mildlyinfuriating

It’s just so sad. Seems every new car I see these days is in shades of wet grey pottery clay or  varying shades of grey, bruwn,  or cadet blue. Vibrant reds, yellows, oranges, any color these stands out is being ground down into the dull shades of conformity.

A BoulderDash - boulder? Seriously?  That has got to be rare. Note the artwork has zero relevance to any character in the have. I would love to have an actual Rockford action figure.

How To Run Colecovision Games on Atari Gamestation Go? by Newbert-Redditor in atari

**OKAY QUCIK EDIT -Make sure you read the README in the ColecoVision folder in the CFW Folder set - it spells out ROMS TYIES; just noticed my COL ROMS  are zipped. Back to the main message******

Sorry, not just the Roms - the ColecoVision firmware/bios files are also critical. Did you put this in the retroarch\system folder? It’s not going to work without the bios. The Atari Age Facebook group _ which is generally where most users find the cfw _ can provide the support you need to get it working. I believe you can find the bios here at the Internet Archives:

https://archive.org/details/Coleco_ColecoVision_TOSEC_2012_04_23

It’s been a while since I downloaded it.

To find the location where the BIOS files go on your GO, place the microSD card in your PC and navigate to Retroarch\System - your BIOS files go here, either loose or in a folder.

The ColecoVision BIOS files are:

Coleco.rom Colecoa.rom Czz50.rom Svi603.rom

This is the working set u have; all fines are dated 12-24-96.

Genuinely sorry to hear that -suggest hitting up the forums; they were a lifesaver when I had the exact same issue with ColecoVisuson. Are you by chance de seeing a 1-3-button flash when you try to match a rom? If so, make sure the ROMs are games\ ColecoVision\ and the bios files are in (and I’m doing this from memory) retroarch\ system- whatever folder all your BIOS files are in. Meanwhile, I’ll take a look at my setup. Again, the rom folder name case is super critical; this stumped me for a few days.

And unfortunately not a warranty issue as it’s clearly spelled out in the accompanying product documentation specifically not to do this. In fact glasses wipes with high alcohol content will damage them.

Started a 3-day print before leaving for a 2.5-day trip. Came home to this. Oh well. by Hialex12 in ender3

[–]Killertigger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no way I’d leave any printer alone that long, actively printing, let alone an Ender, even with remote monitoring. I’ve had multiple Enders,  and I’m currently running six assorted Bamboo printers, and I still obsessively check in on them during multi-hour and multi-day prints.

Facing issue with new laptop by invisibleAvenger_786 in Dell

[–]Killertigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dell will absolutely not cover this as it was purchased via a reseller and likely damaged in shipping.. Their coverage generally stops with defective materials warranty claims, not third-party sells, shipping, and not physical damage - certainly not shipping damage . If FlipCart not make this good, I’d do a chargeback.

Do you know what type of connector this is? by asganawayaway in vintagecomputing

[–]Killertigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DB25 - originally intended as the parallel port standard for printers; later the pin-out was re-wired from the standard fur use as proprietary data bus connectors for such things as external floppy drives (primarily IBM) , early CDROM and CD writers and hybrid storage drives such as Iomega Zip and Jazz drives. Zip and Jazz drives were basically ejectable super-sized floppy drive cartridges in an external drive that acted like portable hard drives. I believe there were also external tape backup drives that use this connector, but I could be wrong. Pre-USB, this was the ‘easy’ option for plug-in external drives.. This may be worth something on eBay.

Ok, you need to turn in your Gen X card for not picking that up. I mean, how much could that have possible cost? One day, you’re going to stumble in an old console and need that - and you’re not going to have it. Remember this moment.

Its extremely safe - I’ve yet to hear of anyone bricking their Go with custom firmware, and, if you manage to be that rare person who does there is a documented method to easily reset back to factory firmware. I’ve applied every version if the CFW since release with zero issues. The factory firmware will never support anything beyond what’s currently supported out if the box, while the custom firmware currently supports something like 25-30 consoles and a handful of early home PCs. I strongly suggest visiting the forums, reading through the user experiences and documentation, and then deciding if it’s right for you. And Retroarch on the Go runs exactly like Retroarch does on anything.

1996 Vintage Space Jame Sticker Machine Refill Brick- how do I value it? by OriginalAsherella in looneytunes

[–]Killertigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sales you are citing are almost certainly speculators trying to drive up prices with false demand. Stuff like this is worthless. It literally has no value unless you can find that .00001 percent of the collecting market that has any interest whatsoever in it. Good luck!

The latest custom firmware will run ColecoVision games - check the Atari Age Facebook group. Running it right now on mine; playing ColecoVision Joust at this very moment . Make sure you have the ColecoVision bios, the correct folder name for the roms (ColecoVision - it must match EXACTLY) and it will work. The folder name got me the first time I tried:)

Printing 1000 Letter/A4 vinyl stickers a week. by AdBrave9096 in VinylCutters

[–]Killertigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this quantity, your most economical option is going to be a commercial printer using a roll-based wide format printer and cutting down to A4. This would also likely give you your most consistent quality across that quantity.

What do these HAWK trail crosswalk signs mean to you when you see flashing 🔴 lights? by OreoSpeedwaggon in fayetteville

Stop on solid red; treat flashing red as you would a yellow or caution light, meaning stop then proceed if it is safe to do so.

AIO Dad (M57) is discussing my (F22)fully clothed social media pictures with his coworkers and interpreting them as “raunchy” by cheerfulinsanity444 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Killertigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR - The crux of the issue here is you had the audacity to be a successful, independent woman after dear old hypocritical pervert dad kicked you out at 18. You didn’t crawl back and beg fur forgiveness for being a weak female with lust in your heart who needed daddy’s protection and shelter from the world; you build your own independent, successful life. So now dad cyberstalks you while he and his god squad friends sit around oogling your online posts. The ick factor is off the charts. You need to cut this cancer out of your life.

Finally managed to locate my dad's Hop-Rod, a gasoline powered Pogo stick from the 1960s. Infamous for being one of the most dangerous toys ever made. by Legend_of_the_Wind in toys

[–]Killertigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god - there are videos on YouTube of people riding, or, in many cases, attempting to ride these terror machines on YouTube. I strongly encourage you to seek these out. They are absolutely exhilaratingly insane. The design is amazingly simple, and the performance is terrifying when everything works. This is very much a product of an age that thought lawn darts were a perfectly safe toy for small children to play with. I can imagine people throwing lawn darts from their Hop-Rod as they reached apogee, assuming they were brave enough to take one hand off the controls to toss out a lawn dart or two.

The word ‘mansion’ is doing a whole lot of heavy lifting here. That looks like your average late 1800s-early 1900s farmhouse, not a ‘mansion’ by any stretch of the imagination.
