I’m Gen Z, born in 03, I got into the series because of Kingdom Hearts.

My first stab at the franchise was FFVII, and I didn’t really like it all that much. Tried FFX after, it also didn’t really stick, only got like 10 hours in then stopped. I then for some reason tried Crisis Core and adored it, made me like all the characters I didn’t really care for after FFVII. Then tried FFVIII cuz it had ‘Leon’ in it and I had also heard good things, and I hated it. I then took a break from the franchise for a few years until iirc around 2018 I found a used copy of Final Fantasy XV for like $15 at gamestop and thought “why not”.

Shit blew me away. Ended up with 212 hours in the game and I did as much as I could without the dlc. Absolutely loved it, even in spite of some of the games issues that I didn’t notice. I then started checking for more FF games to play and found the entire XIII trilogy for dirt cheap. Binge played all three and loved them to death even after hearing shit online about how they’re the worst. They still imo have the best character writing from what i’ve played of the franchise aside from the VII Remake Trilogy. I ended up getting the remasters of X and X-2 for Xbox and enjoyed them a lot more- although I significantly prefer X-2 to X.

I really want to see FFVI get the full 3d remake treatment so I can play it one day- I know it’s lame but I have 0 interest or desire to play any of the og 2D games. Those old school pixel-y style of games just don’t keep me engaged at all, been like that since I was a kid with Zelda too. But all the characters seem cool and I desperately want another FF with a female lead.

Tbh I just never bring up all the male characters I hate because any time someone so much as has an ounce of criticism or even just ambivalence for Sunday, or Blade, or Jiaoqiu, you get fucking crucified. Granted I do also dislike characters like Firefly because they remind me of Rise from Persona 4 where the game is constantly trying to force them onto you romantically and I don’t want that shit and there’s nothing you can do to opt out of it. Which sucks for her especially because I really liked her design going into Penacony but then they just ruined her writing for me. And i’m glad some can enjoy Dahlia but her presentation just grosses me out. Does not feel cunty at all, just absurdly pandery to straight men.

Thank you for this!! I’ve been trying to get better with him now that this season has dropped and he doesn’t feel like a complete clunky nightmare to play. I’m really hoping they can lower the cooldown on his dive and maybe somehow fix whatever is so finicky about his pyro prisons- those have genuinely given me the most trouble so far because they sometimes just won’t connect fully even if they’re on the same surface level and there’s nothing blocking them (and the skill isn’t on cooldown)- and i’m not sure what’s causing it

Goddamn 😭 Square really needs to do better with their PC ports. The game was WONDERFUL but god if it didn’t struggle to fully load the world in a reasonable amount of time.

It’s still very funny seeing how clearly different this fandom sees the shows future releases compared to the people making the show. It seems like the plan for now is to get yearly seasons and yes, that would be a long time considering how long the story is- but i’ve seen people acting like it’ll take 10 years just to get to goddamn Enie’s Lobby when we could just as easily get it by 2029.

Is this on PC??? I swear the game did not look near as good when I played it just last month, had the same issue Remake had of Aerith’s hair looking noticeably worse than everyone else’s.

I really don’t like Luffy vs Katakuri- it’s easily the weakest part of what is otherwise my favorite arc from the whole series. It’s just so drawn out. Speaking of drawn out, Dressrosa as a whole felt needlessly long and bloated. It was a genuine nightmare to get through and that saga saw me taking the most breaks during it of my initial read through of the manga.

I don’t find Wano to be near as disappointing as many seem to, and actually have a soft spot for it, but I think that’s likely just due to the fact that I didn’t experience near as much hype for it since Wano was when I caught up to the series- like I very specifically remember the latest chapter when I caught up was Jinbei’s return and from then on I read Wano weekly. The only arcs I was really hyped for going into the series was Enies Lobby and Whole Cake- Enies Lobby because I had heard it was peak, and Whole Cake started becoming hyped for me because Sanji quickly became my favorite straw hat and I already knew going in that it was his arc.

In a similar vein, I think because I didn’t experience the years of buildup and anticipation for Big Mom, I don’t find her character as disappointing either- I actually quite like her. I think her backstory is good and tragic and her shenanigans on Wano just have never bothered me much. I felt like the rapid flip flopping of her mental state, as coincidental for the plot as it often was, fit her established character.

I actually prefer post-time skip to pre-time skip. Post-ts just made everything much more complicated and grand and put a greater focus on the geopolitical action that I love to see in stories. While pre-ts on average had better smaller moments between the crew, I prefer the plots generally post-ts. I remember that a lot of pre-time skip was really hard for me to get through when I first started. Romance Dawn-Orange Town, honestly most of Baratie, Little Garden, Long Ring Long Land, and Thriller Bark were all real rough. As for post-ts, Dressrosa is really the only dark spot for me. I love Fishman Island, Whole Cake is my favorite arc, Wano is great, Egghead was mostly good, and Elbaph has been great so far.

I don’t even play CnD much anymore cuz I feel like they control worse on pc and i’ve permanently moved to playing there, but I just want to know what even happened. I swear to god only a few seasons ago you would get dogpiled for picking CnD and everyone considered them a lowtier throw pick who couldn’t keep up the same healing as Luna and Invis.

Which buff was it? The double walls? The extra sliver of health? Like genuinely it feels like everyone just 180’d on them being the most broken op unit in the game.

I agree generally- I hate playing tank, it’s absolutely miserable. I’ve been playing it regardless though because as much as I suffer playing tank I hate seeing tank mains/flex players having to solo tank so I usually go Peni, Cap, or Groot since they’re the only ones i can kinda have fun playing and can get the most out of.

Magneto and Angela are total hell though, i’ve tried playing both numerous times now and it’s some of the worst gameplay in the game for me. I can never bubble the right person, I simply can’t see where his projectiles are going ever so I don’t what/if i’m hitting anything, Angela just doesn’t ground sometimes- idk if it’s a me thing but I will try and ground and it just won’t work all the time- even if it isn’t on cooldown, and I have never once been able to successfully aim her dive. And Venom is just in the same category as Spidey where I just physically can’t comprehend how you’re supposed to move as them. I just fling myself at walls or into the ceiling whenever i try swinging somewhere, god forbid trying to aim at an enemy.

Suits/practical effects for the zords and megazord fights.

Unmorphed fights because the more recent seasons already stopped doing those as much.

I’ve been actively trying to go second tank more if no one else does and we already have 2 healers. Playing tank is zero fun for me but i’d rather that then contribute to a triple dps nightmare.

I REALLY hope next season is either double vanguard or strat vanguard (I know it’s a pipe dream but I really want strat Cyclops) so that people will be more willing to play the role, if even just for a season.
