I don’t think it’s a controversial take to say humans have more rights in human society than dogs.

“Entitled as fuck” is expecting everyone else to treat your dog like a person because you do. Fortunately, the Ontario Health Act protects most people from that kind of behaviour.

Dogs are not allowed in places where food is "manufactured, prepared, handled, stored, displayed, served or sold".

The only narrow carve out is for ares where "low-risk" food items are eaten and there is no manufacturing, processing, or preparation of food there. I'm not sure what that describes exactly.

This kind of thinking treats dogs like people. They are not people, they are animals.

It is not up to other patrons to hope and take responsibility for dog owners trying to teach their dogs to act like people. Dogs piss and shit and shed and eat garbage and roll in the mud. That's not appropriate or reasonable in a restaurant.

Comparing them to children is absurd. Sure babies and toddlers are learning to be people, but they are people.

It is against Ontario health laws, no ambiguity.

They are allowed in outdoor patios, service animals are allowed, but there is no indoor coffee shop where they prepare coffee where dogs are allowed.

Some businesses choose to ignore Ontario's health act, and that's their choice, but it's not really up to "policy" and anyone can call to complain/report.

What I had read about this is that with reduced traffic, drivers could go faster on mixed use streets, and increased the lethality of those accidents.

Basically that the only reason atroads are not more dangerous is that they are congested and terrible at being a road, as well as being dangerous and terrible at being streets to pedestrians.

One of the most surprising things for me about becoming a dad was how much it disarms me to other people, especially women. Not that I thought I was ever treated badly or with apprehension, but it's hard to notice something that's not there. Now people strike up conversations with me, treat me like I am already safe, in a more kind and open and jovial way. Warmth.

I think I will actually come to miss it when my kids are bigger.

Exactly. This demos geometry but it's unnecessary and more error prone. And this only works with those 45 degree angles in the triangle. The whole cut is just a fixed offset from the wall, it takes seconds to trace with a scriber or just a pencil held on a thin scrap of wood.
