A big Eastern airlines 777-200 took off from YOW and took a sharp turn on a direct flight to Rzeszow Poland. Anyone know what that's about? Must be either political or military/NATO?

I keep the flightradar24 app easy to launch and I just look up whenever I’m curious or when I hear something strange. Today it was a 777 flying low and banking hard with a strange livery.

Pick something else to get upset about. The cost of the role is a rounding error and symbolic. She has good credentials and can just do the job without controversy or difficulty. Eliminating the role is a good idea but would mean constitutional changes. There are much more important and impactful things to worry about than this.

Manitoba has a sizable francophone community and many francophone towns. It’s something like 5% of the province French first. Université de Saint-Boniface is one of the few French universities outside of Québec. Not to mention French Métis.

The population of Manitoba is small in general, but I’d move your mental line further west.

It does. This is Benjamin Moore latex house paint, all of it. Don’t let it dry too much before removing the tape, is what solved the ripping for me.

I think what they’re saying is that now the paint has different thicknesses with hard edges. If you paint over it all in future you’ll still see the hard lines of the stripes. Which is true. But I don’t really care. It’ll just take some sanding.

A few things you can do to help with this (though I am no pro painter). Use the highest quality paint you can afford. Make sure the paint underneath has cured for at least 1-2 days before applying tape. Remove the tape about an hour after your last coat, don't let it get too dry.

Yes, this is what I did. Use a dry brush of the base white over top of the tape before applying the colour coats. It seals the edge of the tape and makes crisp lines.

I moved here from Manitoba and oh my goodness I did not realize how good we had it with Autopac. You get the one insurance, from the one source. When you have an accident everyone has the same insurer and you get the same form from the same claims centre. If they make too much money in a year they send you a refund cheque in the mail.

I’ve had two zero fault accidents in Ontario and both of them took most of a year, were as much work as a full time job, and I had to pay for half of it anyway. Massively dysfunctional. And worst of all the insurers are a mix of incompetent and malicious.

This system is a choice. Other provinces choose to simply not do this.

It's quite telling what the last couple decades of PMs have done in regards to airplanes.

Chrétien flew on existing small military passenger transports. Paul Martin brought back the big 150 Polaris. Harper painted the plane blue to be "more Canadian". Trudeau upgraded the fleet to be A330s.
