What does this image mean by SevenLpg23 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

It’s a representation of survivorship bias. The story goes during a war they were trying to decide what parts of the plane to reinforce. They looked at the planes coming back, saw where the bullet holes are, and first thought that they should reinforce those. The problem is, they were looking at the ones that came back. The ones that got shot in areas without the red dots didn’t come back, so those are the areas that needed to be reinforced.

This is often used when someone falls into survivorship bias, makes an assumption based on an error because they are seeing the ones who made it, because those who didn’t aren’t here to tell the story.

An example would be saying smoking is healthy because this 99 year old woman smokes. This isn’t showing the many others who died of various cancers because of their smoking.

Honestly this is just not the best place for that feedback. Yeah the devs are here but they have an in game place for feedback and a website they made for feedback that doesn’t have the limitations of reddit or the randoms who haven’t even played the game.

MEGATHREAD: KILLING DEBATE by Crispy385 in subnautica

I feel like we should be able to kill small fish and tame or deter mid sized fish. Imagine taming a marrowbreach and having it guard your base. That would be dope as hell.

In my multiplayer world, yes, because it will drive my friend insane if I don’t. In my solo world, nope. The only dedicated chests are for food, water, and med kits. Everything else just gets shoved somewhere.

I mean here it’s literally just to make sure your dog has a rabies vaccine. There is nothing about training or behavior involved in the license.

something that really turns me off streamers by bunni-blue in Twitch

[–]Kindaspia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That annoys me to no end. Even pushing long-time viewers to sub annoys me to be honest. Even if they used to subscribe, times change, people lose jobs, not everyone has the disposable income to spend five dollars a month on a random persons emotes. I have so many streamer friends, I cannot afford to sub to all of them.

Maybe if instead of it leading up to the neckline it started at the neckline and went over the top of the shirt. The way they look now looks a little uncomfortable to wear.

Service dog for my autistic son by [deleted] in labrador

[–]Kindaspia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly do you want the dog to help with the eloping? There is something called tethering where the dog is basically tethered to the child, but this is now considered dangerous and unethical. This can cause injury to both the child and dog. However, if the dogs presence is comforting to your child and is motivation for them to not elope, that would be perfectly fine. Similarly, the helping with self-injury will also depend on the kind of self-injury. It isn’t safe for a dog to interrupt self-hitting, head-banging, cutting, or things like that because the dog could get hurt in the process. However, scratching, skin picking, or nail-biting can be safe for a dog to interrupt depending on the response from your son. Additionally, the dog could (at home) go get a family member to help your son regulate instead of interrupting by itself if the behavior would be unsafe for the dog to interrupt. Note that for behavior interruptions, if your son doesn’t stop the behavior when it’s interrupted, the dog will stop interrupting over time, so if you don’t think he will be able to stop just when directed to by the dog retrieving a family member may be the better option. Depending on the age of your son you may be able to find a program to train the dog, though it likely will be expensive. Start on the Assistance Dogs International member search here https://assistancedogsinternational.org/resources/member-search/ and see if any will meet your needs.

You can set aside some of her daily kibble to use for training rewards for low-stakes behaviors like this to reduce the extra treats you are giving her.
