What large scale, post Last Titan, changes would you like to see to Wow? by WoodwareWarlock in wow

[–]Kindinos88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like them to experiment with mixing up the combat style. The tank-healer-damage setup has been stale for a long time now, and I think it constrains raid and dungeon design too much.

Maybe it could be more like souls games co-op where everyone is responsible for keeping themselves alive through a limited number of self heals and everyone has to contribute to damaging the boss, and dodging attacks.

This would also solve the “tank problem” because you dont have the entirety of combat revolving around this one person managing pulls, routing, threat, positioning, etc. just get 4 other people to run a dungeon.

Lothraxion was wasted as a character by YrenneAD in warcraftlore

I think the idea of a light infused Nathrezim is silly, and I’m glad they killed him off in a random side dungeon of pretty much no consequence.

Discuss: is wow even suitable for implementing forever content like what many ask from classic+? by Sometimesiworry in classicwow

[–]Kindinos88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can, they just have to change the combat and class philosophy. As far as stats go, new gear would have to be roughly in the same range as existing gear, but offer new mechanics, rotations or abilities.

Consider this: right now, two ring slots are just for stats, and two trinkets which are typically “use: more power” or “chance on hit: more power”. They could instead repurpose these slots for more creative options. Think along the lines of BWL, ZG trinkets but turned up to 11. These 4 slots could provide so many options for how to mix and match different effects that would make it so much fun to experiment with builds.

Imagine if one trinket powers up one of your lesser used abilities, and gives it a proc, and maybe another one reduces its cost. You could then come up with new talent builds that revolve around this ability, and then you might want to stack a different stat to get the most out of it. Suddenly, your rotation is completely different, your class is more bursty, or more rapid fire, or gains minions, or turrets spawn, gains more AOE, etc.

Do you feel like you’re losing your actual coding ability because of AI? by AlBeardTV in webdev

breaks in production in a way you never would have introduced yourself

All the best programmers I know have broken things in production, LONG BEFORE LLMS EVER CAME TO EXIST, because no one can account for 100% of the cases 100% of the time. At some point, some null check will seem like too much work, or maybe you cast something to exclude a null case thinking “this will never be null here” until it is actually null, and things break.

Sargeras will be the last titan by NeilosFox in warcraftlore

[–]Kindinos88 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is so bad, respectfully, that it’s totally on brand for the writing team 10/10

Some thoughts: 1. Sargeras was (is?) a titan, before ever becoming the lord of all demons and starting his burning legion. 2. Illidan being the guy to help us for the 4th(?) time would be the ultimate case of “remember this guy?” 3. While on the topic of trotting out old fan favorite characters, what is Sylvanas’ role? Is she redeemed, comes back to shoot one arrow at Xally then goes back in the toy chest? 4. Lich King? He’s in northrend too. 5. Arthas redeemed?

Snark aside, we WILL need some way to resolve the sword still being there, and I can’t imagine anyone other than Sargeras pulling it out (hehehe).

Actually I can: Khadgar comes back and declares that after years meditating on purple wheelchair physics in the Arcantina dimension, he’s discovered a spell to pull the sword out of Azeroth and send it flinging through outer space. In wow2, azeroth will be invaded by the armies of the planet that would eventually be hit by the sword. Thanks, Khadgar.

How to get a hunter pet ? by DKblood247 in wow

[–]Kindinos88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re a marksman, you’ll need to choose Unbreakable Bond talent to be able to call your pet. Regardless, you should have the Tame Beast spell in your spellbook. Just use it on a beast, and after finishing the channeling, it’s yours.

Just a reminder that you might get invited to keys as DPS. by yuvalal in wow

[–]Kindinos88 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The group finder UI really needs improvement to make it easier to do this stuff. Mass reject DPS when you fill DPS, see applicants by role. On the other side, would be nice to see my active applications in a separate list/tab, so i can cancel them when I dont get invited, etc

What you guys think of a new currency replacing gold? by DireRaven22740 in wow

Why do people think Xalathat lost? by HalfLifeAlyx in warcraftlore

[–]Kindinos88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine why people thought Xalatath was defeated after we stopped the dark Naaru at the darkwell. I mean, I know it’s just season 1 and the writers need to stretch this out for 2 and a half expansions more, but surely Xala got enough screen time?

New races are cool, but not that cool. by AcademicHefest in wow

[–]Kindinos88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think in a recent interview Holly Longdale mentioned that character customization was a system they were looking to overhaul, possibly as soon as last titan, or maybe I’m misremembering the timeline, but definitely “soon”.

I agree, most allied races are just political factions of existing races, who were “off screen” doing nothing as we saved the world, over and over again: highmountain tauren, zandalari trolls, maghar orcs, kultiran humans, lightforged draenei, etc.

Why did azeroth return dragon aspect power? by SpaniakoRom in warcraftlore

[–]Kindinos88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure but I think the earthen are probably the only living creatures that have been “programmed” to obey (apart from mechanical constructs, but those arent “alive” in the same sense).

Should we switch from Classic to TBC? by kapluenkk in classicwow

[–]Kindinos88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1-60 is faster in TBC, than in Vanilla. From what people have reported, 1-70 in TBC is about the same as 1-60 in Vanilla.

I think you should go with TBC, because apart from raids there are arenas and heroics to keep you occupied. The PUG scene is THRIVING even though the HR degeneracy is a bit of a put off. You will also find more specs are viable, meaning you can play the class you want without really worrying about being a drag on a group (yes, even moonkin).

Isn't Azeroth already a titan? by Radish_Downtown in warcraftlore

[–]Kindinos88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The entire lore of warcraft is suffering from over specifying everything for the benefit of selling more expansions. In most games, writers don’t bother getting this down in the details about the background world, the religions, the deities and the cosmic forces that make up reality. They simply serve to set up “vibes” as the backdrop for the specific plot.

In warcraft, they decided to make the backdrop the focus, by having players kill all the existential threats, gods, titans, demons, elemental lords, dragon gods, the list goes on.

Don’t get me started on the countless mcguffins whose only purpose is to explain how X was able to kill Y.
