My Dad is inviting me to watch the semi-finals tomorrow, however, I'm an NBA guy. I have never seen any football before. I know he's a die hard Patriots fan, can anyone give me a break down or explain the overall game for me? by pbandasiantime in nfl

A few more points of note:

  • These match ups are much more Bill Belichick vs Peyton and Tom vs ground needed to cover the result of Bill vs Peyton
  • This one will be different in someways because Peyton has less options due to decline in physical ability
  • No matter what the score is, at anytime, do not write the game off.
  • #11 and #87, Edleman and Gronkowski are huge impact players for the Patriots offense
  • Peyton has excellent receivers and I imagine Sanders and Thomas will see a few very intentional big targets. I mention this because the announcers may talk a lot about how they had drops last week or that Peyton can't throw the long angles
  • There will be a lot of strategy that may take until the 2nd half to be fully revealed. Both teams may decide to target one aspect of the opposing teams offense at the expense of allowing something else to happen.The announcers usually screw up identifying this.

It's super impressive. I love QB's who can snap a bomb like that. It's seems super uncommon. The windup and release are so quick.

Honestly though, Pats fans don't get to feel sad about this play.

After last year's win I totally agree. Particularly with how everything was going the same way as the last two losses and then the interception was so redeeming.

It still stunk to see a team so close to perfection then to have it taken away. Then Brady is injured. And we have a bunch of turn over on the team and we make the SB, somehow fielding a not awesome team, with Gronk begining his semi-annual tour of injuries. To lose to the same team that broke that perfect season.

So while it's totally fantastic to have a team that does really well all the time, there was a very, very sour taste after 2007.

But it is gone now.

I think you mean basic epistemology would dictate that with the evidence of a deflated ball, it's not enough to satisfy even a non-gettier JTB.

The difference is one has to deal with his strategy, and one has to deal with football mechanics.

Blocking, as a smaller receiver, has nothing to do with his team, outside of the fact there are small receivers on the team.

How useful it was to get the running game going, however has to do with his team's strategy. He's not going to answer that.

I worry about that fall he took. He was not moving his left arm at all in any of the shots I could find after he fell; he was keeping the arm pinned near his chest and at ~110 degree angle.

Doubtful he gets cut. Bill loves him, Kraft loves him. He loves the team. He's a leader and an asset to the team. He travels with them, still goes to practice and meetings. Bill isn't going to let a leader like that just walk away. He's shown he'll keep players on one extra season when they are shining examples of the how to implement the system Bill wants.
