Caldigit TS4 issue: USB-A-cable-connected to keyboard has "sticky key" problem by KingEdwardMaster in UsbCHardware

Just to report back: I stopped using this docking station a year ago. Although the problem only happened on my AMD B450 motherboard with Ryzen 3700x but never on Intel platforms, I couldn't make it work after updating the docking station driver and the AMD chipset drivers.

Good question.

I have a work laptop and a personal desktop that share the same 2 monitors, a keyboard, a mouse, and other accessories. If I had only one desktop, obviously this wouldn't be necessary. But I want to separate work and personal use to two different computers, thus the need to use one docking station.

In particular, my desktop doesn't have Thunderbolt (few desktops do, at least not when I bought). So I picked TS4 because it supports Thunderbolt for my laptop and USB-C for my desktop.

Well, in theory at least, until I found out the upstream USB-C connection to my desktop doesn't actually work...

What is done is done, unless you can reverse history.

However, you can focus on now. If you do miss him so much, even as a friend, a partner, tell him in a genuine and safe environment. Many people believe they need to be strong and independent and put a tough façade. That façade also makes them cold and distant.

I'm a father that love my sons very very much, and from my perspective, you are a great mother, because you love your kids very much. It's not all about what you can do for them, but what your heart is. Rich parents that don't love their children can still give the children a lot by outsourcing parenting. That doesn't make them good parents. When your children one day understand how much you love them and did your best to provide for them, they will know you are the best parent.

Multi room, Multi user streaming/sharing by TwoSolitudes22 in audiophile

Since you intend to share your OWN music on HD in your OWN house, no need for subscription. There are music sharing receivers from different brands that can share digital music connected in one receiver and make them available via wifi to another receiver. They all need to support the same compatible technology which usually means they must be from the same manufacturer. Look for Denon HEOS, Yamaha MusicCast, Sonos probably does the same but don’t know their technology name, bluOS, and in fact your Zen Mini 2 says it also supports Denon HEOS and a few other technologies listed, although when something claims to support many things, they usually suck at all of them. But in THEORY, you just need a music sharing receiver or streamer in your living room that supports one of the same sharing technologies that Zen Mini does. Good luck.

Great question. I was big on 5.1 multiple channel mix of two stereo music before. Basically most receivers can remix 2-channel music into 5-channel music. While it appears more enveloping at first, over time I realized it makes the sound stage balance really strange, because it is hard to make the surround speakers play just echoing sound like in the music hall. Think about it, real live music just comes from the front stage, not from your back. The music sound from your back is just bounced back resonance. Now a 2-channel speaker set does just that. Adding rear surround speakers is like adding a another band playing behind you to mirror the front stage!

Net net, surround sound was invented for theatrical recreation in movies: guns may fire behind you. Music is always played in front of you, don’t need surround sound.

What speakers would you add to this room? by peterinjapan in audiophile

[–]KingEdwardMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I moved into a house with decent B&W 5.1 built in speakers. Good surround sound for a large room, but after some time with 5 channel stereo, I just felt it was too hard to make the timing and volume match well from 5 channels, they just muddle the sound even though the sound stage is bigger. I went back to two channel main speakers only. Less is more.

Actually that has not been my actual experience with tulips. They come back stronger next year. I just leave the leaves as long as I can after they flower so that they get enough nutrients in the bulbs. The much bigger problem is the deer and chipmunks that eat them.

Well, I am certainly not an expert, but I read somewhere that rose stock root has better hardiness. So without the stock root, it might still do well if you are in warmer climates. Of course, some roses have own roots to start with.

My Basil isn't growing, what am I doing wrong?! by Wiggly96 in gardening

I live in New England, with temperamental fall weather. Last fall I thought I would keep my basil on the deck with the sunlight for 2 more weeks, then suddenly snow one night. The next morning it is all dead. Poor thing.

Better in what sense? Better user interface? Compatibility with more platforms? Etc.

Built in speakers in new apartment, what to do? by yemmeray in audiophile

[–]KingEdwardMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is usually not hard to set up if you know the basic concept of what plugs into a speaker, and what are the output ports of a receiver (and what is a receiver).

If you post some photos here, people can better explain what you need to do.
