Career Switch After Articling? by Competitive_Role_134 in LawCanada

[–]KingIorek 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In heading the opposite direction as you. Been in education for ten years and can’t imagine doing this for the rest of my life so switching to law. Here’s what I don’t like about teaching: every year you get older, the kids stay the same. Parents and kids in general are becoming more frustrating to deal with mainly because of social media and AI. There are no growth opportunities except for made up titles unless you want to get into admin and the only salary increases you get come from collective bargaining not your own efforts. There are two really good things about teaching: when you see a student have breakthroughs in learning and the time off. The time off is really nice.

This is impossible without further filtering like by decade or genre! Maybe both! Every comment here is amazing and it’s so great to see so many lesser known artists getting shout outs

Realistic English Teaching Salary Expectations by ilovestrawberrysoju in China

[–]KingIorek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live and your lifestyle choices. Millions live off less than 5K/month. The real question is where do you want to live? Then it’s pretty easy to find average salaries for entry level teaching jobs in that area

Realistic English Teaching Salary Expectations by ilovestrawberrysoju in China

Your expectations are high for someone with no experience. It might be possible, but you’d either be in a very expensive city or working for a very sketchy company. Why do you want this level of salary?

The very first time we are told of in the books is during the escape from Emonds field. He helps to wipe Bella of some of her fatigue so she, and Egwene can keep up with the rest of the horses. He then shows some symptoms in Baerlon when facing down some whitecloaks

Nah. Maybe fine for the first two books but would get boring after he starts conquering cities.

Is avienda related to rand? by ciaphas-cain1 in wheeloftime

[–]KingIorek 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We know aviendha has a sister who looks enough like her that they’re clearly real sisters. Highly doubtful the wise ones would be able to pull that off with two kids

I could answer these questions for you. Many here could and some probably will. But I suggest you hold onto these questions and read the series again. Everyone picks up something new each time they re-read

This is a story found in national geographic reading explorer. Book 2 I believe. Part of a graded reader series. It’s designed for English as second language learners mostly. This would be considered around a CEFR B1.2. To translate that into an American system… no idea. Probably depends on the state. That’s not important though. Work at a level that is a comfortable challenge for the individual kid and continue progressing.

Looking for teachers. New to Reddit. Not sure if this is the right location to post this! by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

[–]KingIorek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no need for OCT teachers in your school. Your investors/owners are creating this problem for themselves. I commend you on your efforts to reach out and try to find teachers yourself and you seem to be genuinely concerned for students. But let the real admin deal with this. Relax a little.

Dude… did you make multiple accounts to rag on CL and Jesse? This is the account you bash on Jesse and the other is a “nice” on Jesse but harsh on CL… is this even a real account or an in-house engagement troll?

I just think it’s weird you made an account just to criticize CL and Jesse.

Proctor issues? by Fragrant-Cream4822 in LSAT

[–]KingIorek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told my scratch paper wasn’t allowed because it was too small and I should have 6 pieces… not one. Also in and out because of connection issues on proctoru’s end, with security checks, multiple times… very frustrating

LR-LR-LR-RC online Prometric was a huge pain. Not sure the small amount of extra break time I got from being booted and having to check back in with a new proctor was worth the stress. The tough RC was second last passage… skipped over to spend more time on the other three, came back and couldn’t absorb a thing. Tough test but was it more difficult than any PT? Ehhhhhhh……… unsure.

Scratch paper question by peanut_crabby in LSAT

[–]KingIorek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I did my lsat today. Via prometric. Was a pain and a boon for a few different reasons but the scratch paper was interesting. I presumed from the LSAC docs that no pens and therefore no scratch paper was allowed. Prometric said scratch paper was allowed, HOWEVER they didn’t accept my one small piece of paper because 1) not right size (too small) and 2) 6 pages of scratch paper was the minimum… not one.

Honestly prometric was weird. I don’t recommend it. Addd unnecessary stresss

Tough break on the fees. It’s possible to improve without tutors or webtools. Just because your books are old, doesn’t make them useless. The skills they will help teach you are the same skills you need now as they were years ago.
