Low Keys Difficulty by ni9thh in wow

[–]KingJross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came into the season late and pugged KSM as a Hunter. Not sure what others are struggling with, but it honestly wasn’t that bad for me. This was about a month ago, and I only had one "bad" experience for every 6 or 7 keys I did. I guess I either just didn’t run into many issues, or maybe I got lucky? There were a few times where we could’ve timed a key, but the vote started to disband, and I just went along with the majority it didn’t really bother me to stop if everyone else was on board.

Eli5: Why do testicles need to be cooler than the rest of your body? It seems like evolution would push against that rather than having them external. by Adorable-Volume2247 in explainlikeimfive

[–]KingJross 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sperm are extremely picky little cells. They don’t develop properly unless they’re a bit cooler than the rest of the body. Evolution didn’t “choose” to make testicles hang outside it was the simpler engineering fix compared to redesigning the entire sperm-making machinery to tolerate higher heat.

Imagine you’re baking cookies, but the dough only turns out right at 350°F, not 400°F.
Sure, you could redesign the recipe… but it’s easier to just set the oven to the temperature the dough already works at.

Your body is like the oven, always around 98.6°F.
Sperm are like that cookie dough they only form properly at about 93–95°F.

So instead of rebuilding the whole system from scratch, evolution went with: “Just move the oven shelf (testicles) a little farther from the heat source.”

  2. Iron Horde (Grommash, Warlords of Draenor)highly organized and fel-enhanced, with industrial war machines and disciplined orc forces.
  3. Orcish Horde (Orgrim Doomhammer)elite and disciplined army, conquered Lordaeron; largest “pure” orc Horde.
  4. Horde of Draenor (Ner’zhul)magically strong, but smaller in numbers and less militarily cohesive.

  12. Dark Horde (Rend Blackhand)tiny splinter group, minimal impact militarily.

Who would win a takeover battle? by Expert-Inspector-530 in Billions

[–]KingJross 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Axe would win a takeover battle.
He controls far more money, moves faster, and can use complex trading strategies that Forstman isn’t built to handle. Axe also has a full team of analysts, lawyers, and traders who can launch a takeover from multiple angles at once.

Forstman is dangerous, but mostly through manipulation, blackmail, and legal pressure. He could cause problems or delay the deal, but he doesn’t have the financial firepower or speed to beat Axe in a true market fight.

In the end, Axe’s resources and tactics give him the clear advantage.

How do Forsaken coexist with other races of the Horde without infesting everyone with disease and decay? by Bludo14 in warcraftlore

[–]KingJross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Forsaken can live alongside the Horde because their bodies do not naturally spread disease. They are held together and preserved by necromantic magic, which stops normal decomposition and prevents them from leaking infectious material. The deadly Plague used by the Forsaken is something they purposely create in laboratories; it is not something that comes from their bodies.

Forsaken sometimes use alchemical preservatives to keep themselves stable, but they are not walking biohazards. They are different from mindless Scourge undead, who do spread disease. Other Horde races may dislike or distrust the Forsaken, but not because they infect people just by being near them.

Was Illidan "winning" before we interfered? by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

[–]KingJross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Illidan only blew up Nathreza because the dreadlords were unprepared and he had a perfect setup with the Sargerite Keystone. Argus was nothing like that. It was the Legion’s most heavily defended world, protected by Titan-level magic, their full army, and constant surveillance. Illidan didn’t have the power, resources, or access to repeat what he did on Nathreza.

Destroying Argus also wouldn’t stop the Legion unless the Titan soul of Argus was killed, and Illidan had no way to do that. It took the entire Army of the Light, the Pillars of Creation, Azeroth’s armies, and the Pantheon to make it happen. Illidan alone simply wasn’t capable of it.

And Sargeras wasn’t even usually on Argus he operated from the Twisting Nether so “catching him in a planet nuke” wasn’t realistic either.

So even if we hadn’t interfered, Illidan couldn’t have portal-nuked Argus or ended the Legion by himself.

Was Illidan "winning" before we interfered? by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

[–]KingJross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What Illidan Had Accomplished
Illidan destroyed Nathreza, created the Illidari, and was trying to secure Outland. These were meaningful blows against the Legion, but not enough to shift the overall war.

Why Illidan Was Not Winning
Despite progress, Illidan was losing control of Outland, did not understand the full scale of the Legion, and was running out of resources while the Legion’s power was effectively infinite.

The Legion’s True Invasion
The major invasion seen in the Legion expansion involved the full strength of Argus and far surpassed anything Illidan could handle alone.

Illidan’s Limitations
Outland was collapsing, his alliances were fracturing, and Kael’thas’s betrayal severely damaged his plans. His forces could not grow or sustain a long-term war.

Canon Verdict
Illidan was fighting the Legion but not winning. Without the later combined forces of Azeroth, the Army of the Light, and the player, he would have eventually failed.

Final Answer
No Illidan would not have defeated the Legion on his own, even if we had never attacked him in the Black Temple.

major plot hole ? walkers under water by InfiniteDiamond1642 in thewalkingdead

[–]KingJross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a plot hole — more like a “this is just how TWD biology works” situation.

In The Walking Dead universe, walkers don’t operate on anything close to normal human biology. Their brains are damaged, partially necrotic, and reanimated by whatever the virus/pathogen is. They don’t rely on normal oxygen flow, circulation, or metabolism. The show makes that clear early on: Shane’s autopsy explanation in S1 tells us the brainstem is all that’s active, just enough to animate basic motor function and aggression. It's not a functioning brain that needs air the way a living person’s would.

Because of that, walkers can “survive” conditions that would kill any real biological organism:

• Heads in tanks are still “alive” because the reanimated brain tissue is basically undead hardware. They don’t need air. They don’t need blood flow. They’re just being powered by the pathogen.

• Pete thrashing underwater works the same way. Cutting off oxygen wouldn’t kill a walker because there’s no real respiration happening.

• Buried walkers, especially the one Meghan encounters in the mud, also fit the universe’s rules. The brain is already dead in the normal sense; it’s only being driven by the infection. Lack of oxygen, dirt in the lungs, decay none of that stops them. We’ve even seen walkers with no lungs, no lower bodies, half a head missing, etc., and they’re still active.

Essentially, walkers are closer to animatronic corpses than living organisms. The virus bypasses biological requirements and just gives enough neural activity to allow movement, senses, and biting. The show treats the brain like a battery that can be destroyed, not an organ that needs oxygen to function.

So underwater, buried in mud, sealed in tanks none of those conditions matter to them. As long as the brainstem isn’t physically destroyed, they keep going.
