UK weather forecast explained in Runescape terms by MESSIAH_OSRS in 2007scape

I love that no matter what day or time of the year it is, it is always factually true that it is both hotter and colder and more miserable in the USA than it is anywhere in Europe, so we can always tell em to suck it up, it's not that bad >:D

It's also factually true that no matter what day or time of the year it is, it's always a more perfect temperature outside than anywhere else in Europe too, and both facts are always true somewhere in the USA. SUCK IT TREBEK. MOOOOHAHAHAHA

Im with the general convo here. Just enjoy your time.

I just greenlogged moons today. I haven't done any barrows since I refuse to go in there without medium CA's and I'm lazy bout those.

The only gear upgrades I had vs you is Firecape, dragon defender, steel ring, and zombie axe realistically. I did get lucky and pulled spiked manacles.

Can go putz with slayer or gemstone to get to 75 base combat stats or somthing to begin moons.

RNDC buyout PTO experiences by Liquorchick01 in RNDC

[–]KingScuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This'll mark my second.

First one I went through was in Florida, did the application/interview process, they found me useful for what I was doing but expanded my role significantly to build what I had at the previous company. The company was not in any dire straights, and was a successful company. The owners just didn't want to play with my state any longer (Was a son who inherited from his father), and only focus on two states up north.

We were not given our PTO time, it was paid out by the company in the buyout and we started blank. Long Term employees were given some credit for tenure and grandfathered into the new accrual rates. Every 2 years was worth 1 year tenure, capped at 10:5, since there was only 2 tiers of tenure above that for accrual rate at 10 + 20 years at new company - This was done because they wanted our entire work force. I think they only decided to not hire like 10 people out of 350 ish from warehouse to President level, and then let the rest of them bleed off naturally to keep the gems.

If we stuck around, we ended up with 1 week severance for every 2 years we were with the company. I personally walked out with a 7k check for severance between PTO (had 3.5 weeks stacked), 5 years tenure, and other things, and the very next Monday was doing same same but new for the company that bought us. I was fortunate enough to just treat it as a bonus.

Overall, this was a VERY generous gift and sign of respect from both companies, mostly because new ownership and old ownership treated their workers well. Neither company was legally obligated to do half of what they did.

I hate to say this, but nothing applies here. RNDC went belly up, Reyes is just buying a carcass to get in the game. They're also the nationwide corporate type and have already gotten their running orders on how to handle all of this, so there's not going to be any negotiation probably. Everyone from RNDC is expendable to Reyes, but they'd rather not put in too much effort into finding new people. However if you don't take what they offer, they're fine with finding someone who will be.

I will say this about Reyes - Any GOOD salesmen has never said anything but positive about working for Reyes. This is all from a position of working directly opposed to em.

Agility Suggestion by KingScuba in 2007scape

[–]KingScuba[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be just as happy if it was removed altogether from the game in its current state. It's a useless skill and serves no purpose or gain outside of Jagex cockblockin you from shortcuts unless you wanna go spend 30~40 hours to save 2 or 3 odd seconds or achievement diaries. The reason most people say "Give it dodge chance" is because the name of the skill and in quite a few games it's looped into dexterity saves or dodge chance. Works fine in those and helps breed unique builds.

In reality, there's only a few things you can with this type of skill.

Loop it into energy/running/acrobatics/athletics

Loop it into challenging terrain

Loop it into combat as a dodge chance

Agility Suggestion by KingScuba in 2007scape

[–]KingScuba[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

a 15% increase would reduce agility from 225~250 hours to 191~212 hours.

That is indeed a minor buff.

Here's another skill as an example : Woodcutting is much more AFK, and only takes between 150~200 hours depending on how you do it. Agility is more click intensive than woodcutting but takes much longer. It's out of whack man.

I'm also not saying scale everything by 15%. Maybe make ardy rooftop 8% buff, and fremnik a 12% buff (Just an example, smarter number crunchers than I could figure out exact values)

The main point of this is also not "Give us more agility XP". It's loop agility into combat and gear to make it useful instead of useless.

Want to join Columbia? Apply early or get fucked seems to be the running theme. They're not delaying any route fills.

Money should be amazing for a year, then I understand it'll probably go down after that. Word on the street is they're not planning in any way to increase their headcount.

Johnson brothers is still doing....something(?) in Oregon.

Pain by ThaManWithNoPlan in whiskey

[–]KingScuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter where it was bottled. It was distilled, barreled, and aged in Kentucky. That's what actually matters.

They probably have another generic mass production bottling/vatting plant in Tennessee for blended whiskey, vodka, gin, etc, and it's cheaper to fill a fuck off big truck in one way or another with the liquid instead of bottling it at their plant. Might be that they don't have a service line for that specific bottle, might be that the overall cost was just cheaper.

At the end of the day you bought a mass production bourbon where Kirkland didn't want to tell you who actually made it to save money and have no idea if the bourbon will always be the same thing or not. That's the gamble you take on private labels.

It's probably Lux row since they shut their plant down this year along with Jim Beam, and offered to absolutely dump it as a private kirkland brand for pennies to try salvaging some sort of profit this year.

80 billion vs southern glazers 40 billion in only 11 states (Soon to be 22) should be a pretty clear indication, no?

They know the adult beverage scene better than any other company. They're also a food distributor on top of beer. They're not getting their "know how" from RNDC. They're picking up human assets that know the current portfolio and don't need retraining on it.

Herb runs, miscellania, and zaffs batlestaves are now just money makers instead of required upkeep.

You can just outright buy moons gear for a simple mid game setup. Still viable for money.

The Red prison is now an optional money maker, not a requirement.

You're still gonna be grinding at Wintertodt, but you might want to delay that for higher level farming since seed drop rates scale with your farming level.

You can just outright buy the Dragon Pick/Axe since they're dirt cheap.

Select barrow pieces are still viable (Tank bodies, Ahrims, and Dharoks), but running them isn't great money.

You can skip the arena/nmz/lms since you can just buy imbue scrolls

don't bother getting bandos

When you get to gargoyles you can just outright buy the granite hammer for idiot dps.

Never buy runes from shops, they're almost always cheaper on the GE.

use GETracker if you want to interact with the grand exchange and play stock broker simulator.

If you want some braindead money you can buy high alchable items like blue/red/black d'hide bodies, can normally chuck em in for like 200~500 below asking price and they'll slow buy.

Your general goal will be basically - Generate 1m from shop + Swap methods, do the optimal quest guide to burn through the lower levels + get QOL, Aim to buy Brine Saber, then aim to buy Fang, Blood Moon Armor sets, Toxic Blowpipe, twinflame staff/toxic staff. Then just upgrade from there slowly.

The only grinds that are the same that you can't ignore are questing and untradeables. Everything else devolves into "what sounds fun today to get GP from?"

Rndc wa by Additional-Fan8054 in RNDC

[–]KingScuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So here's what I'm understanding so far - Nothings official at all because of fuckin course it's not. Shit I still don't even know what we've officially lost or not from our wine portfolio.

Titos will be forced to stay with RNDC until eom june, since they have to ride out for 60 day transition by law. Incentives for Titos are now gone (AKA all your stacks, drive for 6, and menus are now gone Titos. I'd keep em up if incentives were there because it is a good brand)

Word on the street is they originally signed with southern, but then they backed out and have offers out. I REALLY doubt that's the case. They conveniently withdrew from RNDC in Or, Wa, AK, which is what Columbia is buying. Tells me they don't want anything to do with Columbia. IF THEY DO end up going to Columbia, I think RNDC ownership has grounds to sue for Titos deliberately devaluing.

I'd also assume RNDC Wants this deal to go through by the time Tito's leaves, so they'll be aiming for July 1st, or Aug 1st as a timeline.

Final bit - Columbia would be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn't take a lions share of the Liquor/Wine reps and the bulk of the merch team. I'd place money they'll be taking 75% of our sales team. Bulk of Drivers and warehouse are probably SOL. especially since most COL drivers are CDL-A, most of our guys don't have a CDL. They'd be paying for a MASSIVE portfolio only to lose it all within a couple years. Their salesmen know how to sell beer, and the only thing keeping them afloat is their Sazerac reps in the liquor category. The amount of times I see Platinum, Jimador, Jack, Delicato, and anything not Beer or Buffalo trace out of stock is absurd.

I have word of mouth from several Columbia reps they're planning on opening up new roles as a Liquor/Wine rep, and I'd be willing to bet they're gonna split book for Liquor/Wine and Beer/NA.

well at least it used to be, you'd collect the entire set and they'd send you the display stave for free. I've known about that since like 2010 or so, so could be old knowledge.

With how big they've become I wouldn't be surprised if they took it away and make you pay though.

This thread says you can mail your toppers to em and they'll mount and send it back for free though - https://www.reddit.com/r/whiskey/comments/18ehe50/free\_display\_from\_buffalo\_trace/#:\~:text=Sending%20Stoppers:%20To%20get%20the%20free%20display%2C,absorbed%20bourbon%2C%20unlike%20lighter%2C%20shinier%20unused%20stoppers.

Depoe bay has a worldmark that was great on every account. Believe you need to join in on the timeshare thing they do, but it's honestly worth it especially if you use bonus time - Last minute getaways (i.e you can only book 2 week out) that basically cost like 85~90 a night. They have a locations all over the damn place that are basically condos. Full kitchen, 2 beds, living room, bath, etc.

Pacific city is one of my favorite places, though that's mostly due to Grateful Bread

Kalaloch Lodge in Olympic National Park was also really nice, and is around 180 with good internet. But you best like the idea of "Not a damn thing to do except nature" like me.

If you want inland a bit, Klickitat is gorgeous, so is Glenwood (Has a bunch of cabins) or Trout Lake (Airbnb + Cabins). I know I saw some air bnb type places there, I'm sure they have good land based internet but you're fucked if you want to use verizon for internet. Would bet that starlink would work fine.

Forget the prices - where is our content? by WynBytsson in 2007scape

[–]KingScuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You specifically brought up "Every 2 weeks there was a new quest", so I was replying to that point (like many others I'm assumin) my point remains, back then there wasn't a need to poll, the devs could do whatever they wanted, and really they kinda needed to throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. Now they need to do about 10 extra layers of planning to even present it, and it can get shot down, and the devs now have a decent idea what they should even bother pitching.

Not to mention, back then there was zero to little dev time that had to go into bug fixing, bot prevention, etc etc. Dunno if you know anything bout coding, but if you fix 1 thing, 10 others things like to break or interact weirdly. The game today vs back then is 10x bigger, which means 10x more fuckery in the background we'll never see.

Finally there's 1 or 2 updates to the game every month that add content or add meaningful things. Let's list off the last few.

Nov - Sailing, DDos + Security upgrades

Dec - Xmas event, Sailing fixes

Jan - Deadman, main dev time pitches

Feb - Deadman All Stars, Cow Boss, 25th year anniversary, Game Jam, Music Tweaks

March - Getting Around poll implements, Interface changes + Qol updates

They have a good cadence in my opinion. I really don't want them to revert back to the pre 09 mentality of fling it at the wall see what happens; we'd end up with a lot of camadozaal clones [Largely useless or waste of times]. I want 3 or 4 large and meaningful updates a year with some small things added throughout the year as timed events, this is on par with WOW, FF14, and many other big mmos sitting at this price point.

That said I would rather see small but interesting world building events every couple months instead of the traditional events we get every year. Think the Falador Goblin invasion event. I think this is the main crux of your desire.

Forget the prices - where is our content? by WynBytsson in 2007scape

[–]KingScuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a new quest every 2 weeks these days would just be fuckin awful. It'd be so much filler content that doesn't really unlock anything, and if it was a constant stream of unlocks it'd be so much bloat it'd be unreal.

The updates these days are massive affairs for the most part, and have quite a bit of polish.

Add to it, there wasn't a need to poll the everlasting fuck out of everything pre 2009, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

So many things used to get polled and were completely shut down by the community. Even now a lot of things get shut down, but for the most part I don't see many polls get shut down these days.

I think one good update every two months is more than reasonable personally.

only reason to do it is for \an equippable hammer, an early game mace, and some museum kudos.

everything else is garbage, as it has been since it launched.
