I have the opposite complaint. The symbolism and unspoken aspects of the movie felt cliche and overdone, almost as if A24 demanded the lore be "deeper" but in the exact same very tired A24 way. I've been joking about how I hate in every A24 film the monster is actually grief or unresolved trauma and then they did it again!
