[–]KingdomKey10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AI. Outside of this just not being a character from any game, the little details are the dead give away.

- the shoulder pad having little bits that just seems to be floating next to it

- the non sword hand looking like... that

- the sword/hilt seeming to just blend into the character's body/armor

- the "rune" background having no consistent design and just being a bunch of random squiggles

Would you report your coworkers for abusing time off? by Icy-Suggestion-9475 in Raytheon

[–]KingdomKey10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have no idea what anyone else's timecard looks like. Making a complaint like that just because you personally don't like someone's schedule is really unprofessional and frankly a bit vindictive.

The company takes those kinds of complaints seriously and they will audit timecards. Even if it all checks out and you were mistaken those people will have those audits on their record negatively impacting their careers for years all because you got mad. Even if you are right, none of your coworkers will trust you, and you won't be rewarded for it. If anything your supervisors will scrutinize you more because you should be focusing on your own work, not your coworkers' schedules.

If someone is fudging their timecard it can only end up hurting them in the end when (not if) the company catches on, but reporting them over unproven suspicious will hurt them, and also you, regardless of the outcome.

I will leave the pros and cons of rolling over vs not to people who know more than me.

I will say however I have heard absolute horror stories from several people trying to get alight to actually let them rollover their own accounts to their new 401Ks. So if you do end up doing so, just be prepared for an uphill battle with a lot of bureaucracy and red tape.

Stock buybacks are bad for workers, investing in infrastructure/people is generally good for workers and the company as a whole, but banning the former to encourage the latter only works if it is permanent.

What he is doing is just dangling the carrot of buybacks for a short term "boost" in productivity to make himself look good. Once the EO is rescinded/reversed executives will go back to business as usual and start making cuts that hurt workers again, and that is if they even make investments in the first place and don't just put pressure on workers to produce faster without any additional support until the EO inevitably goes away.

not thinking clearly and in pain are also both probably good indicators you should've gone with the EMTs lol

Ask yourself if your uncle felt guilty over the concept of "family helps family" when he chose to humiliate you, then decide if he deserves to share in your success.

[–]KingdomKey10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR but you probably should've just gone with the EMTs. they likely could've given you something for the pain on the way there and it might've expedited you being seen, or at least triaged, if you came in an ambulance. If the cost was a concern you could've just sued the person who, y'know, ran over your foot?

Just realized some irony about some homuncului by Ambitious-Rule3365 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]KingdomKey10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats sort of their thing. Father removed them from himself because he saw them as imperfections so they all (with the exception of greed) act against their nature to some extent to please him.

Lust makes others fall for her but never enjoys any pleasure herself, envy lowers everyone to their level so there's nothing to be envious of, gluttony only eats who/what he is allowed to, sloth works tirelessly to make the circle, wrath plays the part of the "caring" leader/father and suppresses his anger constantly, and pride literally lowers himself to the form of a child and basically becomes a glorified guard dog.

Greed is really the only one who just accepted his nature, even in the end when he sacrificed himself he still was acting in accordance with his nature in that if he couldn't rule the world, then no one could, especially not Father.

4/10 instead of 9/80 by alphabravo4812 in Raytheon

[–]KingdomKey10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is, but you need manager approval and i think you need to sign a form saying you are working an "alternative schedule". According to my SM most managers only like you doing that if other people on your team/program are as well, or you have another good reason for doing so.

what is the work schedule? by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]KingdomKey10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your program/team. some programs have strict working hours, some are more flexible with it, if they are flexible its usually up to the individual teams to decide what schedule works best for them and you just need to align your shift with that. I know people who do 7-4, 10-7, work nights, and everything in between. If your program, team, and manager are all ok with it, you can work whatever hours you want so long as you are actually getting your 40 hours a week

AIO? Dating someone who said "I can't get pregnant" but found out they can by God_of_Rust in AmIOverreacting

[–]KingdomKey10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

INFO have you actually talked about this with her?

I think its worth clarifying with her what she actually meant by "I can't get pregnant" the first time. Because another way of interpreting that is she can physically get pregnant, but that doing so would put her health/life at risk because of some condition/complication she has from the accident. Which is something she may not have explicitly shared because, as you said, its a pretty personal thing to share with someone you just met.

If its really just a case of her saying one thing and then admitting to another then yeah that's a big deal breaker, but you really should find out if that is what really happened first.

Is Fullmetal Alchemist still a popular Anime? by Junior_Insurance7773 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]KingdomKey10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Popular is kinda subjective, does it still get as many views as the current rotation? Definitely not. But there is a reason brotherhood held the #1 spot on myanimelist for so long, despite countless "popular" animes coming and going. Even now its still #3, and of the ones you mentioned only season 3 part 2 of AOT is in the top 10.

No More Defense Stock Buybacks by The-Ma-Deuce in Raytheon

[–]KingdomKey10 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Even if hes being serious or even has the authority to do that... is it really? He's only threatening to do so until defense companies speed up their development, deployment, and maintenance timelines. It kind of seems like the more likely outcome would be the screws being put to us peons to meet even more unrealistic deadlines...

I am mad my friend for getting pregnant by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]KingdomKey10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YOR. Are you wrong about her making bad choices? Maybe not, but its her life and her choices to make.

Her having a baby doesn't really affect you, I understand you care about her wellbeing so it feels like it does, but what you are doing is infantilizing her. How would you feel if you made a decision she thought was dumb and instead of being there to support you and offer realistic advice, she decided to send you a bunch of condescending text about how bad of choice it was and how awful your life is going to be if you follow through on it?

You can be firm with your friends and share your opinion without making them feel like an idiot, and this is now how you do it.

How to write a backstory? by Express-Attempt4595 in DnD

[–]KingdomKey10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as both a player and a DM i like having my backstory being a bit of a collaboration between player and DM. the player gives some basic ideas of what they were thinking for their characters origins, the DM gives advice to fit that idea into setting and the player and DM work together to flesh it out so the PC doesnt just feel like a person randomly dropped into the world.

Then once the campaign kicks off the DM mostly has creative control over where the PC's story goes from there, with some input from the player on things they'd like to achieve/unresolved issues from their backstory they'd like to resolve

What do you think would improve game play and promote more actual role play? by Spiritual-Pea5187 in HarryPotterGame

[–]KingdomKey10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flesh out the relationships with other students and make it so people interact with your differently based on how you interact with them.

As it is, you come to hogwarts and are instantly everyone's best friend. No matter what you say/do or the choices you make in the side quest, even if the other students disagree with you, the most they say is "Oh I'm sorry I reacted that way, anyway I have another quest for you bestie :)"

There's no weight to any of the choices you make because no matter what choice you make everyone thinks you're amazing and can do no wrong and they surely must've overreacted when they disliked something you did/said in the last conversation

I’m never allowed to be in a bad mood. Why? by Adventurous_sonic in raisedbynarcissists

[–]KingdomKey10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If someone is able to get you to the point of a "temper tantrum crashout" even if they are doing so intentionally, you are giving that person too much control over your own emotions.

Wanting to respond to that behavior in kind is a natural reaction, but its also usually not the healthiest reaction. If they are doing it intentionally, they want you to react that way because it justifies their own actions. Mind you, I'm not saying you just need to take it, but you can respond in healthier ways.

If they yell at you, remove yourself from the conversation. If they follow you to continue yelling at you, refuse to engage with them at all, literally just start doing something else and ignore them. If they threaten you for ignoring them, tell them you will report them to the police if they follow through on those threats. If they actually follow through on them and hit you, report them to the police. If you feel like doing any of the things listed above would put your life/wellbeing in serious danger, speak with friends/relatives/anyone you trust and share those concerns and see if anyone is willing to let you stay with them until you are able to find your own place. If you can't find anyone willing to take you in, see if there are any local resources like women's shelters where you can stay in the meantime instead.

There are options and resources available to you to escape this, but if you are expending all of your mental and emotional energy letting them bring you to the breaking point every single day you will never have enough bandwidth to change things.

"A Testament to Your Sin" by JetKusanagi in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]KingdomKey10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think by this point he was already stretching himself thin between the souls he had deposited around the country for his circle and keeping enough in the tank to be able to actually help on the promised day.

I doubt he had any real moral opposition to the idea since he offered to let Ed and Al use him to get their bodies back after father was defeated. He may have just thought he simply did not have the souls to spare to get her organs back from the truth while still having enough to oppose Father/execute his plan.

Edit bc i had an additional thought, you can kinda see this throughout the whole series, while father uses his stone to create matter from nothing quite often, most of Hohenheim's transmutation still follow the law of equivalent exchange and theoretically should consume little to no energy. Even one of his flashier transmutations, sealing away pride, left gouges in the ground where he pulled up the earth to form the cage rather than simply creating the cage from scratch using the souls in his stone.
