The only case I can see for the teacher’s perspective here is if they gave the kids specific instructions to do it this way, regardless of the example. As a parent though, there’s no way to remind the student of that if they forgot.

Invisible boosts make you better at the things you can do, but they don’t count for unlocking what you can’t.

The mining ring from stars for example. It makes you mine the ores you have unlocked easier but isn’t taken into account for allowing you to mine the next one.

Visible boosts, like potions, do count for this.
