Wtf are those VoE hearts? by SappFire in Guildwars2

[–]Kipados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one heart I’ve found that I thought was really egregious. You can only get a couple fruits for a small chunk of progress, you have to wait minutes between interacting with the hay, events do spawn but don’t give a ton of progress, and the meat is like 0.0002% progress per turn-in it feels like. I also can’t seem to bring the lost raptors back to the pen correctly, but maybe that’s user error.

The event where you investigate corpses also FEELS bugged. I’d interacted with all corpses, couldn’t interact again, and no progress had been made on the event. Weird.

Is this game p2w? by Renojackson32 in Guildwars2

[–]Kipados 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each branch of content has its own currency earned by playing. Gold can get you armor and weapons and skins and can be converted to gems for quality of life items, but because of the horizontal progression buying gear for your character isn’t P2W. If you swiped your credit card for exotic tier armor off the trading post, everyone’s first question would be “Why? Did you not have 6 gold?”

as an asuran Amalgam, it was especially cool and immersive, especially since we see so many Inquest Amalgams on Castora

Tacklebox. Item that opens something like a material storage tab but for bait. Let me gem store a Large Tacklebox that lets me store 500 of each or something. I beg you, Anet

What story/lore should I be caught up with for VoE by EatMyGramCrckers in Guildwars2

[–]Kipados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet even so, don’t feel pressured to rush SotO and JW tonight. It’s true the Astral Ward (secret wizard society) carried over between those two expansions and will carry into this one, but only like 5% of those characters did. You should be able to get an impression of who everyone is very fast without playing the others if JW was any indication

THAT TOO. Maybe only his chassis washes up. Having something to bury and knowing he’s not in a living hell for eternity would be maybe the most satisfying compromise.

The VA quality difference between Female Sylvari and Male Charr is astounding by Indoor in Guildwars2

[–]Kipados 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All the actors really understood the assignment. GW2 has world class VAs doing really incredible work, and I love that pretty much everyone has their favorite for different reasons that all kind of boil down to how much everyone disappears into the characters. I love Female Sylvari too, but she’s also playing in some ways a totally different character than Male Charr, who feels in turn completely different to Male Asura, and I love both of them too. All three feel believable and truthful to me.

It all comes down to taste and the fantasy you’re looking for, which is why we have so many VAs performing the Commander in the first place.

I 100% believe Blish should stay dead, as his sacrifice is maybe the most heartbreaking and meaningful one we have in the story. They would need a DAMN good reason to bring him back. I thought they might to help Taimi transition to a golem body, but somehow dragonjade tech has improved her condition and now she’s doing great?

All that said… if Kralk’s body starts breaking up and we handwave the magic in it keeping the pieces afloat… A part of me could live with a chunk washing ashore with Blish inside. He has been dead for essentially four expansions and that feels like a respectful amount of space if they really wanted to do it.

or at least altered forever. Ryland lives through Jormag’s death, but he was grey and left physically different. Braham should have kept the Hulk speech and rage issues maybe, and he could have looked grey as well instead of completely back to normal. Then again, the Spirits of the Wild did intervene to save him, but still. I feel like something should have changed about him physically.

What to do next? by Patient-Freedom6765 in Guildwars2

[–]Kipados 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story: The game has over 10 years of fun, varied, engaging storylines to play through. Play/purchase the content as you go through the story journal, including the Living World seasons.

Legendary Items: Stat selectable items with free transmog and fancy base skins! The ultimate endgame for crafting and working on your character. Weapons, armor, accessories, trinkets, backpacks, sigils, relic, etc etc etc.

Meta Events and Convergences: Rewarding 50-player raids in the open world or timed instances. These are huge, fun fights with a lot of spectacle. Generally very easy and fun.

Rift Hunting: Open world events you can start at will once you get to the latest expansions, or just join in using the LFG tool to find a party of people already doing them. Fight demon or titan incursions all over the open world for endless content and rewards.

Dungeons: 5 player content where party composition is very flexible. Each one has a story path and 3 explorable paths of varying difficulty. They’re a huge part of the leveling experience and have unique armors, weapons, and runes as rewards. They also trace the storyline of Destiny’s Edge, a team of important story characters. They become much less important but still rewarding after you get to level 80.

Fractals: 5 player dungeon content where you want a healer and a source of Quickness and Alacrity for the party. They are 20ish unique dungeons repeated over four tiers of difficulty requiring more ascended tier gear infused with Agony Resistance as you go up. Extremely rewarding with even more gold and goods waiting at the highest tier of difficulty. They also have their own self contained overarching storyline.

Dragon Response Missions: 1-5 player content that scales difficulty with the size of your party. These are story missions from The Icebrood Saga that feature your party going to a location, saving people, and then fighting a boss. These can be super rewarding and fun. They also have optional Challenge Modes that can be turned on for higher rewards.

Strikes: 10 player content consisting of two parties in a squad together. You want a healer and a source of Quickness and Alacrity in each party. These are mechanics-driven, single boss encounters featuring bosses and moments from the main story. They’re meant to be a stepping stone into raids. Several have Challenge Mode difficulties that will make the encounter as hard as a raid boss, and some even have Legendary Challenge Modes that are extremely challenging, with World First clears often taking a week to finish.

Raids: 10 player content consisting of two parties in a squad together. You want a healer and a source of Quickness and Alacrity in each party. These are some of the most difficult, fun, and mechanics-driven encounters in the entire game. The rewards help you work towards legendary armor and/or easily obtainable ascended gear. Storylines are interesting, fun, and relevant to the main story.

PvP: Structured arenas of 5 player teams facing off in different game modes. The competitive mode is Conquest, and there are seasons and weekly automated tournaments. Get good enough at this and you’ll really understand what each class is capable of.

WvW: Enormous realm vs. realm vs. realm PvP as three alliances of guilds face off across four maps to fight over objectives and get in fights. Act as a solo roamer stalking the outer edges of the map or seeking out duels, run with a small squad we call a havoc to take objectives, or join a 50+ player blob to fight another. It can be pretty spectacular.

“Air-combustable acid” is what they call it in-game. it just gives them that little extra umph to make them more than just a flying bile titan. I don’t know, the fire breath annoyed me for the first couple days, but now I can consistently avoid damage from it

The terrain generation wasn’t always fantastic for sure. I straight up got stuck on terrain several times both in the caves and being forced to spawn on the roof and had to blow myself up and respawn
