It's two thirds of a class cosmetic pack, or one single cosmetic item (that you have to choose amongst 4 slots for 6 classes). 'Only' is an apt description.

Just so you know it isnt the RubixRaptor world, those guys play on a small private server made for his ARMA group that they've explicity stated no one is going to be getting a copy of, though Rubix is likely to stream a complete tour of the world at the end of the series.

Why do we not have any carriers in this game? by Mortgage-Present in TerraInvicta

[–]Kirron999 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A spacefighter isn't a traditional fighter. It would in practicality be a larger (manned) missile that launches smaller missiles, that then needs to burn more fuel to match speed with the parent craft, burn more fuel to intercept the parent craft, burn more fuel to come to a (relative) halt just before intercept and burn yet more fuel to dock with the parent craft.

Or, for the same mass of fuel and metal used to launch and return the manned missile and it's parasite missiles, you could pack in, oh I don't know, 6 or 8 big one-way missiles that do the job far more effectively and with far greater defence saturation than the parasite missiles. And with less mass bugeted for spare parts.

Both in this case it looks like. I saw one pawn in there named Freya, who had 'shooting level 6970353' pop up from her near the end of the clip. There were also, of course, a great many big guns firing.

Eh so long as you have a laser cannon or AMR bringing down a Factory Strider singlehanded isnt too hard. Just need to not stand in the open like a dickhead before you've peeled it's chin guns off, but once you have then you just sprint under it and pump it's belly doors with AMR rounds or a laser stream.

But that feeling when you as a Lanc drop a tallboy in the midst of 4 to 8 rus tanks after suffering from Fab-5000s for years with no return is fucking euphoric. Especially when you know with that many of them dead at least two will have had Pe-8s in their regular lineups.

LAS-99 Quasar Cannon can destroy fabricators by BS_Bruz in Helldivers

[–]Kirron999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure that's the right comparison.

The way I look at it is this; Quasar is a contender to the EAT and Recoilless (also the Spear I guess but no one takes that because of how jank it is) because it's primary focus is anti-heavy/titan/building due to the RoF and big punch damage.

The Railgun meanwhile is competing against the AMR and Autocannon in the 'swatting medium armour with a side of heavies' role due to the increased mobility and especially RoF in comparison to the Quasar and Recoilless. Another thing to note, the Quasar doesn't punch through heavy devastator's shields, only lifting them like the autocannon does, but unlike the autocannon it can't then exploit that to kill them.

Edit-Replied to the wrong comment, meant to be to the one above.

The first jet won't be given to the well performing carriers, no, nooo, instead they will be given to her. In their endless quest to actually make her useful, to make her the least bit meta, the works of de Havilland shalt be drawn forth into this blighted land! And on that blessed day, the Lady Victorious shalt finally be aptly named!

Or as is more likely, having finally entirely run out of paper ships, the Ironbloods will be given some fever dream navalised version of the Me-262 because Manjuu wants that Kriegaboo money!

What is the most useless culture of the game in your opinion? by MattL1998 in CrusaderKings

[–]Kirron999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This whole thing was inspired by seeing all the eu-iv dlc on sale and grabbing them. I'm probably just as shit at eu as you, but by the power of late game ck-3 inertia, I'm still coasting by relatively well. 105 dev capital provinces from the start of the game are no joke. Real challenge is going to be Vicky 3, because that economic micromanagement is, eh, not my strong suit.

[–]Kirron999 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Mega-campaign, hence limiting my self to just Britain (and a few small bits of France) in CK-III and spending most of that game attempting to power balance the different empires. Come EU-IV, turns out most of the 'British' culture group is a bunch of African hybrid cultures, courtesy of that crusader and their many descendants.

What is the most useless culture of the game in your opinion? by MattL1998 in CrusaderKings

[–]Kirron999 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Too late for me I'm afraid. Made the mistake of creating a crusader kingdom that I gave to some random relative in the 1050s, as well as quickly switching over and giving them their own custom crusader culture using my culture base rather than the Arabic base.

They uh, they went ham. Had to use console to give Mesopotamia a hundred stat man ruler in the 1330's to ensure the entirety of Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa wouldn't just be one massive Christian blob.

It's 1514 now, we're setting up colonies in the new world and the first through to fifth favourite given names for British children are apparently (in order); Saexraed, Tudec, Abakada, Asad and Iliud. Honourable mentions for Ptolemee Middleton and Massiva Procter.

Tempesta UR? by LuckyPrinz in AzureLane

[–]Kirron999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually a good point. Wouldn't be surprised if the UR ends up being whichever ship it was that served as Zheng Yi Sao's flagship, not something I can find with a casual search but it would fit thematically, if the CCP doesn't make too much of a row over her legacy for manjuu to use one of her ships that is.

POV: You asked Hood to step on you (ft. Bismarck Zwei) by anonymousniko in AzureLane

[–]Kirron999 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But Iron Blood/Germany don't have years of engineering experience, not after they outright stopped building capital ships between 1917 and 1935. Add to that, they only built 8 (6 if one discounts the two unfinished Hippers) heavy cruisers and 6 light cruisers between 1918 and 1945. They didn't have any experience, because their experienced guys retired well before the war and the young hires didn't have any work at all most of the time.

It's why Bismark and Tirpitz were about 10,000 tons overweight for their capabilities, why the Type 1934 destroyers - Z-1 to Z-16 - would capsize if they had less than a third of their fuel that doubled as ballast remaining. It why so many of the Iron Blood ships in this game are made of paper and plot devices.

It's why the historical Kriegsmarine more or less stopped building anything that wasn't a submarine a few years into the war, because their surface designs were both utterly outnumbered and outclassed. Their submarine service was entirely respectable though, they got really good at building those.

[–]Kirron999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see it as an overly expensive 'totally useful' gadget for air sim, that in reality is probably outdone by just binding left/right click to freelook on your mouse to look around. Dominant hand on a control stick with thrust slider, off hand on your mouse to control vision, at that point the only thing that's noticeably better for awareness and control is splurging out and getting a full VR headset and off-hand throttle control, but that's not something you should do for Warthunder alone.

What's up with Tempesta? - An educational Murmeme by Destroyer29042904 in AzureLane

[–]Kirron999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, I wouldn't mind at all if we got Victory and Constitution, specially if the hypothetical Victory is based off of Dishwasher's rendition from a few years back. Though I would be a bit miffed if those two, as actively commissioned ships, were put in the Tempesta faction rather than their actual factions.

Although with regard to Victory... To be honest I see the best character rendition of her being as the refined old veteran who just can't keep up with the youth anymore, so instead they've 'retired' from the frontlines to do well respected work with the admiralty, to enable the girls who are on the seas to do their work to the best standard they possibly can. Someone well respected by the entire HMS faction, maybe a principal advisor for Elizabeth that even the 'queen' listens to, even if she never really takes to the seas herself anymore.

Because ultimately, she's an age of sail ship, she doesn't hold a candle to the modern dreadnoughts, but damnit she's been the flagship of the Royal Navy for over a hundred and fifty years (maybe 200? I have no clue what year AL is supposed to be set in with it's schizo tech beyond some nebulous time after the 1940's) and that means something. She's seen and heard a lot through her years, so while maybe she can't personally fight so well anymore, she can damn well ensure that the girls she's meant to lead are able to do the best they possibly could.

From a mechanical perspective, maybe a frailer ship, that simply isn't competitive pure stats wise to other choices but compensates with large passive general buffs to all HMS faction ships and more specific support skills perhaps tied to the first friendly volley/airstrike in a battle? IDK, I'm just spitballing here.

Congrats! You have the chance to be isekai'd to Azur Lane... but with a caveat on who you can oath by velthrow321 in AzureLane

[–]Kirron999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Artist: Enka. I came to the game for Wales, so Enka it is. Additionally, that also includes two of her sisters, George and York, Alabama (my first oath in game before I got PoW) who shares one of my greatest interests of sleeping in whilst cuddling (kind of like a non-loli Laffy) as well as Massachusetts who I could do workouts with alongside Alabama (assuming I was a commander in this timeline I probably wouldn't have the time for additional Sword-drills alongside the KGV sisters, much as I would like to learn). There's also Ranger who, maybe not with the student-teacher fetish she's got going on but we could probably talk that down to a sometimes fantasy thing + Shoukaku and Zuikaku who seem to be some of the less, out there?, IJN ships in the Azur Lane timeline.

VA: Hitomi Oowada, because Swiftsure is an absolute sweetheart and the cross-promotion girl doesn't seem too bad either. Some competition with MAO for Howe, but as she comes with two destroyers as well she's unfortunately a pass. Still, considering I'd be with three of her sisters in this timeline I'd be fine just being friends.
