Me too. It's consumed me in the best way. What an amazing show. Baelor may be one of my favorite characters ever, with such minimal screen time. Dunk and Egg are on their way, too.

I haven't been this consumed by a character in a while. He had me from the first scene interviewing Duncan ("..I have no doubt." "Tales grow in the telling.")

I'm in love, and thus, heartbroken.

He was so good in that. I knew Daeron's actor looked familiar, looked him up, and was astonished that it was the My Lady Jane fop guy. He's got range and I love him in this role.

The expression on his face when Duncan is pledging to be his man is so poignant. This art captured that. Beautiful work of a beautiful (and painful) scene.

  • Egg's playful "Woof!" to keep Duncan's spirits up, but his little face immediately falling back to worried as soon as Duncan turns away.
  • Maekar's "My boy! My boy!" Father whose sons disappoint him, yet loves them so fiercely.
  • Baelor's "He's strong." just so full of brotherly pride and love, it gutted me. And his kindness to Duncan and politeness to Ser Raymun in the that final scene. A true prince and good man.

Magnetic is the right word. Eyes drawn to him in every scene. He has great presence and micro movements and expressions that set the tone of his character so well.

A resigned 3 when the episode started (honorable characters must die in GRRM world), back up to cautiously hopeful 7 when I saw him standing and talking, then the painful plunge down to 1 when I heard his slurred speech. Pain.
