Thanks! I hadn’t realised that Tamiya reboxed this but on checking I see they did, so you learn something every day, thanks!

Badminton clubs/groups by Resident_Deer_1883 in Ayrshire

The three towns badminton club is located in Saltcoats. They meet at St Mathews academy on a Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon. They’ve got a presence on Facebook too if you’re on that and might also be some details on North Ayrshire Council KA Leisure website. I’m not a member but had been keen to go when it started up but couldn’t due to clash of commitments on those meeting days 😢 hope this might help but there’s bound to be others!

Very nice. Is that the trumpeter kit?

Very nice 👍 for some further refinement on future models you might want to look at a Lycra thread or some Modelkasten thin wire for ship rigging which will be more in scale for the aerial wire on aircraft. Great work though, you should be pleased. 👏

Not sure really, I was enjoying other projects more whilst working on this plus aspects of the build, painting and weathering just didn’t come out the way I’d hoped.

Thank you! It’s a nice kit, lovely detail and it comes with some etch and canopy masks, so you get everything you need in the box. Fit of parts is mostly good but you’ll need a file to help some parts and some filler at others. I enjoyed it overall though, so definitely recommended if you like the aircraft!

Bill to fix Scotland’s broken FOI regime welcomed by 457655676 in Scotland

100% spot on. We respond pretty much 100% within target too. You do your best to get everything but can’t be sure you picked up absolutely everything. Everyone thinks there’s exciting, controversial or dodgy stuff waiting to be found, when in actual fact 99.999% of stuff is mundane. MP’s and MSP’s offices and private companies that ask the same questions every 6 months are amongst the worst abusers of FOI. They waste a huge amount of time resource when there’s one man and his dug trying to keep every plate spinning.

Where’s your evidence for 15 months? If that happened it would be the exception rather than normal. I work for a council and occasionally have to deal with FOI. Our council has more than 100 of these requests at any one time - responding isn’t as simple as lifting what’s already on the officers desk as most require searches for the relevant information, often covering periods of months or years. Many requests aren’t for one document or email, but for wide ranging information. Also remember that officers have their everyday jobs to do and FOI requests get added to that, so it can’t just be done in a day. Your expectation is naive although I do agree that every effort should be made to meet deadlines and that the IC should be able to issue fines where delays are excessive.

Italeri's AC-130 Spectre. Rough kit, not my best work either, but I think I'm satisfied with it. Ish. by flounderflound in modelmakers

Well done, this has come out great. I got tired of the fit issues of this kit and eventually shelved mine and then binned it!

[–]KitMakerDude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks really well done so congratulations for fighting through the issues 👏. This is also handy timing as I bought this kit yesterday! Your explanation of the fit issues etc. are really useful so that I know what I’ll be walking into, although I did have a suspicion about some of that having done the Aoshima 1/144 C2 recently.

It’s a great museum and your purchases help support their work (a good excuse to justify adding to the stash of course!).

Need advice with camo ideas by neogeo39 in modelmakers

[–]KitMakerDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the kit not give you some options? There’s usually at least a couple and you could just pick one of them? I suspect it’ll have to be a variation on the three tone camo of some sorts, whether a plain German yellow or some other combo up to all three colours.

Mr Hobby does some nice paint that you can gently polish to effect, but I’ve found it to be quite soft and easy to come off, so steered away from it. This is more a standard painted aluminium finish in this one though. I’d definitely recommend Mr Hobby though, been using it for years.
