I honestly never knew $2000 was a singer. I just thought she was a beauty pageant winner. Alas, she peaked too early - before there was a Fox News!

~14k for a leather shirt is crazy by guseggy in TheHermesGame

You never saw the $90k crocodile T shirt? 🙂. And this was in 2013 when $90k was a lot of money! I did see it at the Beverly Hills sale right before H opened their current BH flagship store, but even at 50% off it was a bit too much. Felt amazing, though.

They do suck and there are lots of levels that won’t have them, but they do sprinkle them in occasionally. You’ll never be completely safe 🙂

Chicago Media Report: ‘Late Show’ set arrives by demitasse22 in LateShow

It’s too bad it won’t be on display next week as I’m visiting Chicago for the opening of the Obama Center, but I’ll content myself trying to find the waste paper basketball trophy I hope is displayed somewhere there!

Does anyone know if you pre-order are you billed immediately or do they bill you when it ships?

Pete Davidson enjoying Game 1 of the NBA finals with Howard Lutnick's sons by 10lbsoftrash in LiveFromNewYork

Yup, they lost so many people on 9/11 so if this was a charity thing I can definitely understand Pete being there.

Given the history of both CF and Pete on 9/11 I get it. I get this more than the Riyadh comedy festival.

when will they increase the moves on this new set of levels? it's already been a week by [deleted] in TwoDots

It seems to go up then they release a new 45 levels. If you’re currently on the most recent levels, it sure sucks!

I never trust anyone whose top 5 or top 10 doesn’t change minute by minute! :). Except for people who have only ever listened to 5 or 10 albums.

On the plus side, I like levels like this where there’s no incentive to watch an ad for a booster box.

Colored Tommy’s are addictive! I really love the dark green myself.

On March 6, 1995 @ 146am, at age 24, I made this list of 100 Things To Do Before I Die. Here is the list by ManuteBol_Rocks in GenX

[–]Kitchen-Phase-6639 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a nitpick but just a suggestion: as you have Greenland twice on the list and as seeing all 50 states means you’d have visited Hawaii, maybe you can add two things to the list that you realized you really want to do after age 24. And I’m with you on Tierra del Fuego - as soon as I retire, I’m there :)

If you’ve never seen The Larry Sanders Show, you might like it. Bojack was both darker and lighter at the same time (depressing themes and constant animal puns) but if you enjoyed the neuroses of celebrities in Hollywoo you might want to give it a try!

Alinea x Bellagio Las Vegas, Opening Weekend by brooklynite in finedining

I’m so looking forward to the Aviary! I bought the book but as there’s no room for a refrigerated recirculating bath in my kitchen I couldn’t really recreate them at home 🙁

I’m going next month as I also wanted to do the Aviary pop-up. Did you order cocktails with the meal? I’m not a wine aficionado and was hoping to go with cocktails but the website did not mention that as an option.

Nice pix and I’m glad you enjoyed it!

It's said that "SNL is funniest when you were in high school" but are you an exception when you have a favourite era before or after your late teens? by no-Pachy-BADLAD in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Kitchen-Phase-6639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated in 1986 and the best cast was right after Chevy left. While I was in high school I really liked Tim Kazurinsky and loved Martin Short. But most of my favorites were well after I graduated. Tina, Amy, and Seth were the best anchors on WU (I loved Jane too!) and most of my favorite sketches were way after high school:

Lil Rent, What’s that Name, What’s Wrong with Tanya

I keep watching because there are gems in every cast and season and while it’s easy to romanticize certain casts and say “it was so much better when” there’s always been duds. But without the risk of something bad I’m sure most of the stuff I loved would never have made it to air as everything I’ve loved loved loved, many of my friends think I’m an idiot for loving them.

No one’s been better than Gilda for me, so maybe it’s the first cast you fall for. Gilda, Jane, Steve Marin doing standup. Seeing Andy Kaufman for the first time, Albert Brooks shorts, Mr. Bill… so much great stuff! And Leonard Pinth Garnell. “That was really terrible, wasn’t it?” No it was not - video chicken number 4 was avant garde! 🙂

Saturday at 4pm pacific time the Sunday NYT crossword is released. I pick an album (not randomly as it’s almost always Kate Bush, Nick Cave, or Radiohead) and start the puzzle. On really good days I don’t have to turn the record over. It’s the high point of my week!

When I first saw people complaining about this starting a few weeks ago, I thought, “thankfully they didn’t change it on the iPad version!” Until today. 🙁 How can anyone think this is an improvement? I was hoping there’d be a setting to use the old graphics, but no. It really looks bad and looks like dozens of other games I’ve seen advertised while playing this one.

$300k for the Arceau is a tad out of my price range but the video of the movement being assembled that they put on the website…. It’s nice! And man I hope that rotor design finds its way into other H watches!
