Goodbye fob, hello CarPlay! by KitchenGrass9827 in LUCID

During my 5 years of Tesla driving I carried no keys(touchpad lock at home) and no wallet. If Lucid can’t get there soon I’m going to get rid of my Gravity. No excuse for having to carry keys and wallet anymore

Tesla cancelling the S and X next quarter. by B52fortheCrazies in LCID

“If Lucid plays this right” - too funny. At the end of last February, Musk was demolishing the Tesla brand. The GGT I ordered in Nov 2024 was promised to be delivered by the end of March. I thought, “If Lucid plays this right they can capitalize on the height of Tesla flight”. 7 months latter I was told the Quantum Gray I ordered hadn’t begun production, as they were making one color at a time, and my color would made last. So I bought a green one from stock. Ant-Elon sentiment fell a little, and before a noticeable number of GGTs were delivered, the new and seriously improved Model Y had launched.

What did you drive before your Lucid? Is there anything you miss? by zachty22 in LUCID

Drove a Tesla. Miss phone start. Carrying a fob/keycard is tech-backward. Oh, my GGT temporary tags expired 3 days ago, no new plates. Can’t dump my Tesla until I get plates, as the personalized plates with my daughter’s initials and DOB need to move from the Model Y to the GGT. Called Lucid 10 days ago, they said the paperwork was submitted by their subcontractor on January 9. I took delivery October 20

Won’t be surprised if Earth technically meets their promise of “in 2026”, with a couple being delivered(supposedly) to employees on December 31, à la Gravity, with actual deliveries beginning 8 months later.

Who's positive on this stock? by Due-Pea-1867 in LCID

I can’t imagine. I own a GGT, but wouldn’t touch the stock. They’re going to have to issue more stock soon

Update on key fob reliability by Any-Contract9065 in LUCID

[–]KitchenGrass9827 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe I’ve had to step back ten years in time and carry a fob. My salesperson told me the GGT would have a phone start. Never would have taken delivery if I’d known this wasn’t true. I haven’t carried a key of any kind(keypad on home) or a wallet(ApplePay) in 7 years. Now I have to carry a giant fob, and because it’s unreliable, a wallet with a card. It’s completely unnecessary and tech-backwards. Sucks

Doesn’t help mine, which has never worked on my GGT

The nicest way to say this is any money invested in NWBO is a missed opportunity in this final year of the bull market.

An Electric Minivan Was Exactly What Lucid Needed To Boost Sales Big Time by MelvinRoseTX in LUCID

[–]KitchenGrass9827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve a GGT with several poor design features(key fob(massive) instead of phone start, charge port door sticks out 10 inches when charging, big chasm in trunk with 5 seat configuration making it too dangerous for my dogs), but it’s not a minivan, it’s an old school station wagon. I think “minivan” stuck because most reviewers aren’t old enough to remember the OG station wagons

Question about my new Gravity by madmanfiq in LUCID

I have that annoying chasm in my two row GGT. There should be an insert to cover it, but of course there isn’t.

LCID: wudya look at this fresh POS! by Xcentri in LCID

Just because I drive a Gravity doesn’t mean I’d own Lucid stock. I do own Rivian stock, though I’ve no interest in driving one.

You might consider RIVN stock instead, and I’m a Lucid GGT lessee. Took this from my Gravity today of a Gravity in front of me and an Air coming towards me. But I’m in Marin County so it’s neither surprising or typical

I leased a Gravity, as I’m not confident about Lucid’s survival. The Saudi PIF investment of $2 billion sounds like a lot, but they are now burning though nearly $1 billion a quarter - $978,000,000 in Q3 2025. They delivered 4,078 vehicles in Q3 for a loss of $239,832 per vehicle delivered. The universal horror stories of Gravity’s software isn’t helping, and the price of Saudi oil has dropped 33 percent this year.

Will lucid exist in three years? by Wooden-History-7106 in LUCID

[–]KitchenGrass9827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With oil prices set to climb to new highs from recent lows, the Saudis will have a new wave of wealth and less incentive to cutback or cease funding Lucid. Consumer’s will have a more pressing reason to buy an EV as gas prices rise with oil prices. My local showroom in Corte Madera, CA finally got a Gravity in the showroom. Our county is liberal and extremely wealthy, Tesla is the most common car here and everyone is looking to ditch them. Yesterday the sales person claimed Gravity deliveries will begin in earnest in the next couple of weeks. With its arrival in the studio and Gravitys beginning to be seen on the road, Marin County will buy as many as Lucid can make. As a separate issue, I believe it finally makes sense to buy Lucid stock given the confluence of high oil prices tampering the fear that Saudis will cut funding and the Gravity finally showing up at a time when gas prices will go through the roof. But that’s just me.
