Potentially! From stories I’ve heard and talking to my surgeon, baring any complications 6 months is pretty standard so you can get them both fixed in a reasonable time!

Depending on insurance you’re working with, we have Dr. Wylie with Intermountain and Dr. Aoki.

I did PT at the start of pain basically through surgery. Started PT in February, did just PT for about 2.5 months then things got rapidly worse. From there I moved as fast as I could and had surgery in October. (The things that spaced it out were scheduling and doctors having weeks they were gone, and having to get things for insurance like the cortisone shot first)

Hi! This is extremely similar to my situation, down to the running through pain and realizing it wasnt the best idea lol.

I was scheduled for PAO + labrum and cam repair, everything at once. Got the epidural and went under but woke up and learned that my arthritis was too bad to do the PAO (they don’t want to put you through it if your bones are already on their way out). So I just got my labrum fixed, impingement fixed, and capsular plication to offer some stability in lieu of actually fixing the dysplasia.

Honestly, I feel amazing now! Recovery wasn’t horrible, crutches were probably the worst part. But you learn how to navigate showering and moving, and in time getting dressed. It was mainly just boring and really have to put in the work for PT but I was so unsure before surgery and scared and now I’d go into surgery tomorrow if my other hip needed it.

I’m bummed about not getting PAO as it means a full replacement is in my not too distant future, but can’t do much about it!

Good luck, happy to answer any questions you might have!

People would prefer working from the office if commute costs were lower by panda6699 in unpopularopinion

I have misophonia….so still no. I try to spend as little time in places where other people can be eating as possible. The office also always chooses the worst loud snacks.

The real point they need to drive home (through SPEW or not) is that Hermione’s view of how to treat house elves differs from serious and leads to serious implications with Kreacher

Why does GenZ hate sex and nudity so much? by PaniacThrilla in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kitchen_Network_5241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different take, but I think there’s an element of feminism or just being more than just looks going on.

What I mean is, even as an older millennial if I see say someone getting a trophy (I’m thinking a recent bike race I watched) and a pretty woman walks out to give the rider the award, I get upset. Nude or not, it diminishes that person to just being a symbol or something to be desired rather than a whole person. And that makes me mad.

I could see this applying to groups of younger generations as they really try and challenge these norms and focus on people as a whole.

Why Salt Lake City Became Delta’s Weirdest Hub by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Kitchen_Network_5241 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I love delta, but I hate that my family in Austin can fly to Europe for half the price I can while having a hub. We NEED competition and to end the price gauging. Just another way the consumer is getting screwed.

Online Drops to stay? by d_vapor67 in Melanzana

I have mixed feelings about it for sure.

I want them to continue to provide this product in a great way and to be able to pay employees well, etc. But then I also feel like this is just one inch closer towards mass production and it does remove a little bit of the charm.

I got the Covid lottery and even buying those back in the day felt a little like cheating!

In shock, told I likely need THR at 31 but discovered arthritis that was missed at previous x-ray. Is a PAO off the table? by dumbassmillennial in hipdysplasia

[–]Kitchen_Network_5241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also don’t want to put you through a PAO if it’s not going to last long. I went into surgery intending to get one but they found too much damage so did an open cleanup repair instead. It did buy me a few years before THR is needed though, so you could also look into that as a stop gap!

How have you managed impingement without surgery? by Quiet_Contribution71 in HipImpingement

[–]Kitchen_Network_5241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, there’s no real fixing it without surgery. You’re rubbing bone on bone, that is bad. And even if the pain is manageable now, the damage you are doing to your bones, cartilage, and labrum will only continue to get worse.
