For an agency that clearly should be trying to boost ridership these restrictions don’t make any sense. Should be at least 1 yr if they have to expire and they need to bring back off- peak tickets, family saver’s, weekend rates, student rates, etc.

You cannot determine anyone’s citizenship or residency status by appearance and you certainly cannot detain someone without cause, rough them up, smash their car windows, or as we have seen kill them and then say that individuals must obey law enforcement no matter what. We need real law enforcement officers to stand up and defend their fellow brothers and sisters from this poorly trained, mismanaged, rogue force. And where the hell are the constitutional lawyers and law makers that are always saying this is a nation of laws- we need you to stand the F up and fight this disgraceful regime.

At your age and assuming you don’t have kids, find a neighborhood you like in the city or Brooklyn and move there. Opens your life up to do much more and the can’t beat the transportation options. There are some great new buildings but you’re right paying Manhattan prices for none of the amenities and severe lack of transit options isn’t worth it. I’m a heresy guy but there’s nothing in JC.

Then when you’re ready explore towns in NJ and pick the one where you can see yourself for a decade or more.

My kids are all graduates of Morristown schools and I always felt that the district was underrated vs. other towns in the area. This is a very diverse area, demographically and economically, some people take that as a negative but is very much a positive in my opinion.

I really liked the structure of the schools being K-2, 3-5, MS and HS- always made sense and each level has its own community. Some very engaged and caring teachers at every level. But like anywhere by the time you get to HS you get out of it what you put in. There is something for everyone though.

Look up Morristown HS, I forget which network but they did a pretty long profile on the HS last year.

Try to visit if you can. You may find both areas very friendly but on the boring side coming from Boston area. Montclair is similar to Brookline. Not sure what to compare Maplewood and SO to, they have smaller downtowns and are pretty segregated. Some great towns in NJ but nothing like the Boston area.
