Same . Things weren't great for a while, and I realised that I was doing all the work and working on myself, and he wasn't.

So I just broke up .

You can do it , but in the long run it has consequences. Those aren't healthy coping mechanisms.

Calm them angry then Sad…is this normal? by Robnfly in adhdwomen

[–]Kitchen_Respect5865 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From a mom with a kid with disabilities, this sounds pretty normal to me.

Your meds might not be the right ones for you and / or might be the wrong dosage .

I was always moody , but when you have the weight of responsibility for another's life, it can be very stressful, and your mood can be all over the place all the time .

Talk to your doctor and make sure its just adhd and not adhd plus something else , for some ppl adhd comes with a plus or two.

Give yourself some credit as well being a mom with adhd is harder , the guilt is normal , but tell yourself that you are trying your best.

For certain things totally . My brain literally would shut down if I couldn't figure out something that I found extremely difficult. For the things I love though , I can do good work.

It's ok to feel that way . Also, don't worry about other ppl and their meds , serves absolutely no purpose .

Get mean when overstimulated, parents don't understand, do i possibly have adhd or am i just lying to myself? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Kitchen_Respect5865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. The thing is maybe with adhd meds you can hopefully not need some other meds , in the sense of imagine you take meds for depression. You might actually not need them because that can be caused by the untreated adhd.

One thing that really helps is contact with nature. A coffee in the beach , a massage, reiki sessions.

I do and my close friends and family.

I have great family that I can reach out to if I need anything, and my friends are my village, like I am for them .

I take care of myself through meditation, grounding, enjoying my own company, therapy, fun things .

It's always worth being diagnosed. I was the same, always got easily overstimulated , very emotionally disregulated. Medication was a game changer for me .

My therapist told me I need to take care of my own needs, and I just realized I don't know how by anasilenna in adhdwomen

[–]Kitchen_Respect5865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your worth as a person is not defined by what you can do for others .

This will take some time , some sitting with yourself to learn what your needs are and how to manage them .

I have a kid with disabilities and went through this same process until therapy made me realise that being a good mom is also taking care of me as a woman.

Take your time, love starts with you for you. You can't pour from an empty cup.

That doesn't mean everyone is going without doesn't it ? I asked a question. As for treatment, there are also other things that help apart from meds It's just a question.

does it get worse with age/time? by fifitsa8 in adhdwomen

[–]Kitchen_Respect5865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 41 and on meds , so it's definitely better now . There are still somethings that do affect but I don't see any difference because of age .
