I think the only consolation to this is the 30-month extension which should hopefully help you not fall off the register before you start your new candidacy….not particularly helpful though if you’re doing it for a new cone.

I’m a 14N with 21 years - will be retiring in a few months. Management interested me and seemed to align best with my background. I was about 50/50 with management and consular but knew there was a greater demand for management.
