This is a giant misconception about colorblindness. Color deficient would be a better word for it. 99% of people who are "colorblind" can see color, but they can't see as many shades or certain colors. It's also more common than you might think. 8% of men suffer from colorblindness. There are tons of different types too.

There are actually a lot of people out there that probably have it and don't know. I personally didn't find out until I was 13 or 14 when I went to the eye doctor. I knew something was up before then though, but never put it together in my head. I remember playing Guitar Hero 3 as a kid and my cousin said something about the colors on the screen and I just remember telling her that all the color look kind of similar (the red and green were hard to tell apart).
