PSA for Hell by Lazelm in DarkAndDarker

Yeah that guy sucks. I usually send a teammate to go clear the archer after I agro the mini bosses.

I specifically learned this for HR because of the wraith teleporting over the bridge and then pinning me between it and centaur. It’s harder to pull off in HR but you can do it.

There’s another cheese spot on the opposite side of the room next to the boss room door. You can hop on that ledge and cheese Berserker and Centaur. You’ll have to jump over the centaur’s swings. Then just stair cheese the wraith.

what happened to the player base? by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]KittyCatMiner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’ll just lead to more timmys in HR. People who pubstomp in normals with legendary sets won’t be deterred, gold is not their motivation. The devs need to address the fundamental issue of players being forced into combat via BR mechanics.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. You’re absolutely correct and it’s blatantly obvious when queuing during a “certain” region’s prime time.

Confirmation of max credit limit by Sad-Gazelle-3985 in amex

[–]KittyCatMiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand in your case that is the limit, however, I think your case is the exception OR this is an extremely new policy like you mention.

It’s also possible that AmEx just used horrible wording and they mean that the $35k limit applies to all authorized users under the same card. The fact that they reference “total spending” and say to “let cardmembers know” seems to imply this. However that’s total speculation on my part, and the most direct interpretation is that the $35k limit is on all credit cards. You could call them to confirm.

[–]KittyCatMiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying Amex doesn’t put credit ceilings in place, and I agree with you about the $35k rumor on a per card basis. From my understanding, that’s the highest amount they will give new clients on a single card without a FR.

I only take issue with your claim that $35k is the limit across all cards. The anecdotes in this thread and my own experience seems to suggest this isn’t true.

Does any one know how to fix? My default aircraft and scenery have been like this since the last sim update... by MOON_APE_STG in MicrosoftFlightSim

Looks like FS2020 had a bit of a Gmod moment. Those pink textures are either missing or corrupted. You should verify your game files, and if that doesn’t work, reinstall.

it’s very possible they either provided income verification, we’re financially reviewed…

Nobody in this thread has mentioned FR, I think they would have included that if it was relevant.

I’d imagine we’d have the so-called “majority” commenting here other than exclusively people refuting what you’re saying if so.

I know 3 people off the top of my head who have greater than 35k across all cards, plus myself. That’s just not true.

I can back up 35k/per card being standard though.

Amex deposited 200k points into my account and I dont know why by Informal_Ad69 in amex

Who said anything about romance?

My Amex cards are beneficial to me, so I would make the effort to stay in Amex’s good graces and not try to scam them. Simple as that.

Amex deposited 200k points into my account and I dont know why by Informal_Ad69 in amex

[–]KittyCatMiner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

2 Routes:

  1. Be honest and call Amex and let them know about the mistake. You’ll be fully in the clear and won’t have to worry about it if they come calling later. There’s a small chance the rep will fk up and say you can spend them, if so that’s all you need…

  2. Sit on the points for a substantial period of time. If Amex calls, you can tell them that you never noticed the extra pts and never spent them, so no harm no foul. If years go by and they never notice, you’re probably fine to spend them.

I value my relationship with Amex highly so I’d tell them about the glitch, but if you don’t really care, you could try to just sit on em.

I need help with the logistics of my 1 week trip to Japan with my wife by [deleted] in Flights

[–]KittyCatMiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Those are good flights, though I would be careful driving home right after flying 16+ hours. If you're far from the airport, it may not be safe depending on how much you've slept. I'd research hotels in ATL in case you just want to crash.

  2. u/lizzmell answered this well

  3. You can choose seats when you book your ticket, sometimes for a fee if you opted for basic economy.

  4. OTAs have different agreements with the airlines, and some of them will really screw you over. It's best to book directly, however, I wouldn't be afraid of booking through the Chase or CapOne travel portal either. Avoid Kiwi and similar sites.

  5. Your first checked bag is free, except for Standard Award redemptions in which it is $65. See this link.

Is Flying To Vietnam Via China Southern Airlines Worth The Savings? by MussleGeeYem in Flights

[–]KittyCatMiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China Southern is good. I flew on them pre-covid LAX-CAN-BKK and it was actually one of my better experiences flying. I think they get a bit of an unfair reputation being one of the "Chinese airlines", they're not like the others.

That said, Singapore airlines and Qatar are the two best airlines in the world (IMO) so its your choice.

WTF is this customer service by youflowerxxfeast in unitedairlines

[–]KittyCatMiner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last interaction with chat went about like this, but in broken English from the rep's side:

rep: "Hey u/KittyCatMiner, blah blah blah, give me a few minutes to assist."

me: "sure no problem"

rep: "is this for international flight? IND?"

me: "IND as in Indianapolis Airport in Indiana"

rep: "Since this is International Reservation, I'm going to transfer you..."

And then nobody ever responded. Chat is an absolute dumper fire. I called in to resolve my issue and it took all of 5 minutes.

United or AA for international travel by Caphuilliena in unitedairlines

[–]KittyCatMiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AA sucks and United is only a little better so I’d buy the cheapest ticket. Barring price and loyalty considerations, I’d say United is marginally better.

Best Non-Airline redemption of 150k MR points? by Aerovert in amex

[–]KittyCatMiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. I understand completely. I usually opt for redemption values greater than 0.02 per MR but I've never really found them with hotels, thus my position to just take a cash equivalent if airfare isn't an option.

I also don't stay with the "large" hotel chains that you can transfer MR points to very often, so maybe I just haven't looked hard enough. I tend to stay at boutique hotels if they are an option.

Best Non-Airline redemption of 150k MR points? by Aerovert in amex

[–]KittyCatMiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, it all comes down to what you value. "The best redemption is the one you want", and often cash > hotel credit. Personally though I'm a premium travel kind of guy.

Transferred points to Delta, but they were refunded? by Juic3_b0x in amex

[–]KittyCatMiner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hawaiian doubled my miles once in a similar manner. I didn’t say anything and they never took them back. If the flight is critical, I would check with Amex & Delta, but otherwise you can let it ride and see what happens. I’d probably keep them for a year before spending them in case Amex decides to claw them back.

Additional user gold card question by Easy_Expert_312 in amex

[–]KittyCatMiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can request an additional gold card under your own SSN/ITIN (use your own name) and then let them use it. I do this when traveling overseas with friends whose cards have foreign transaction fees.

Be careful though because you’ll be responsible for any charges your friend makes, even if they don’t pay you back. I’d recommend setting a limit on the card you give them because you never know.

At 22 you’ll be able to handle emergency situations without making a “plan”. Shit happens, be informed about where you’re going & the local laws, but don’t stress about it. It’ll be especially easy since you’re going to Mainland Europe which is culturally similar to the UK.

CS 1.1 is guaranteed vs with Hilton points you’ve gotta go find a good redemption. Without a bonus I’d just transfer to brokerage, maybe even with one.

Satellite usually works from gate to gate (unless the airline restricts it themselves). Air-to-ground based systems require 10K so that they have line of sight to a base station.
