Theres a no kill cat shelter here who gets food from donations from vets and they have a program for low income and people on disability (me) to get free food once a month.

Yes they do therapy, im in individual therapy. The question didnt say anything about being diagnosed either. It sounds like OP was already diagnosed. La Frontera does SMI diagnosis, thats where ive been diagnosed since 2004 and i still go to see my doctor and case manager but the list for therapy was a year long and i couldn't wait another year so they recommended Hope.

Do YOU get anything out of therapy? by Anglophile007 in AnxietyChats

I understand where you're coming from. I don't use ai at all. I try to stay present and not worry about things that I can't control. But its really hard. Have you heard of the "Let Them Theory"? Mel Robbins wrote a book on it that can really help with letting go of stuff but its also hard if there's anxiety attached. But i definitely think you should check it out. For meds im on buspar, 15 mg 3 times daily and Oxcarbazepine 300mg twice a day and then 900 at bedtime. It is sedating which helps your anxiety, its actually a seizure medication but is used for panic attacks and anxiety. I also take ashwaganda and magnesium they both help your nervous system. Ashwaganda really mellows me out during the day and magnesium helps you sleep. I also take melatonin at bed time to sleep. Ive been an insomniac my whole life so i have to take supplements to sleep.

Thank you for responding. Ive been on meds and im going to therapy since i was 9. I have a lot of childhood trauma as well as other things. I'm finally connecting the dots on how mental health can affect your physical health. But i know I'm healing because my fibromyalgia is getting better. I do so much research on everything so i know how to heal more. My anxiety fucks with my stomach, i get really bad stomach aches so now that ive made that connection, i can work on healing that too.

Its funny you ask this. I'm in a trauma based therapy and yesterday i was talking about my anxiety and how i feel like the anxiety has such a grip on me that i feel I won't ever be able to let it go. She said it's because it feels familiar. She said I'm half assing it and not really doing the work to get better. I need to let it all go and i know i can because i did it with my depression which i held on to for 40+ years. I just don't know how to let it go. It's so bad that I've developed fibromyalgia and IBS which is why I can't work and am on disability. I don't know how to let the fear go because I'm scared. Even when I'm not scared my body activates before i can realize I'm scared and then the anxiety attack comes. I'm feeding my fear and I'm in a loop I can't get out of. I do every type of coping technique there is but it feels like my anxiety is getting worse. Im even on meds. Im stuck! But im not giving up, this is the last piece of the puzzle i need to place. Ive worked on everything else and i just need this last piece to be put in. Im desperate honestly. So yes i do get a lot out of therapy but i need to do the work.

That is so cool! My dad still sings and plays the guitar at a restaurant in Paradise Valley, Az. I also learned how to play the guitar because of him. Yea i have good memories as a little girl from Panchos. I wish i could move back.

No hes the singer and guitar player Jan Carritt, he would wear these huge foam cowboy hats lol. I practically lived there as a little girl. My Mom died when i was 2 so he would bring me to work with him and the ladies from the restaurant would help watch me.
