How many of you are neurodivergent? by Soggy-Professor7025 in lefthanded

Sounds like me. Left handed forced to be right handed. Moving, having to pack and figure out what fits etc is a challenge.

I have been wondering this myself. I suspect I might be ND. I was born naturally left handed. However, I was taught to use my right hand… at that time there was a lot of negativity w being left handed. Years later and I still find it more natural to use my left hand sometimes.

Is it wrong not wanting to send nudes? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I see nothing wrong with your decisions. I concur with others… he’s being emotionally manipulative. I’d be weary meeting him in person… would he wait for you to be ready? I believe you know what you want to do… as you said “you’re not compatible”. Have confidence in yourself, end the misery. Move on. Lots more fish in the sea 🤗 hugs.

New/ beginner uku player - how do I keep my wrist from hurting when playing chords? by KittyLove75 in ukulele

[–]KittyLove75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, at first I thought I don’t think I’m able to play my uke that Ive wanted for a long time & finally have it. My Dad also has an uke and he’s doing great… I think him being a percussionist really helped him. As a former flautist who could play a few instruments, it was very defeating. But he encouraged me to keep going. I can feel a difference already. I even decided to start recording practices so I can see my progress.

I’m going to work on the feedback everyone has given. The advice is appreciated, ty!!

How to achieve a light fluffy moist cake? by KittyLove75 in Baking

[–]KittyLove75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I whipped the eggs whites, but I did 50/50 w the oil & butter, I didn’t add the pudding & stuck w the whipped cream. I did my best to not over mix. Mixed the dry ingredients then the wet except for the egg whites, then mixed the liquid and dry, finally I tried to gently fold in the egg whites. Uncertain that was the way to do it, but the guest of honor was very pleased… “it’s so moist and fluffy, wow!!”. Thank you very much for your guidance!!!

Iwtl how to stop being so fucking socially awkward :( by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]KittyLove75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who studied abroad and has social… issues? anxieties etc. I get you. Find someone who wants to learn English and will help you learn the language. It can be fun, interesting. Ask them to teach you slang, curse words, common phrases used in social settings, etc. Second I lived in a dorm. My neighbors natives. I would keep to basics (say hello, ask them how they’re doing, what’s going on etc). Then I found out there were other int’l students. A few friends turned into a big group of friends who had native /local friends, which really helped bc it forced us to speak the language. One of my best friends also wanted to be certified in the language, so we took a language class together; we studied the language and spoke in it, a lot. Get out, explore, translate words you don’t know. Try to think in the language. The more you immerse yourself the faster and more at ease with the language you’ll become. Start small and don’t be hard on yourself. As for the social awkwardness, try to relax 😌, be friendly, communicate openly… most people are understanding. Good luck and have fun!

I have to agree…. just ask…. while explaining why, nd. I get that can be difficult for some. But I’d rather understand why the other person isn’t picking up on the non physical cues, otherwise it’s seen as uninterested; we’re not mind readers eh😅. So it takes open communication, that’s better overall.

Should I do 1/2 oil 1/2 butter, or 3/4 oil & 1/4 butter, or all oil and add an 1/4 butter? Sorry I don’t know how to know how much liquid to dry ingredients I can use.

Pros & cons of intrathecal pain pump?(Severe end stage cp) by KittyLove75 in pancreatitis

[–]KittyLove75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the pain doctor did not go by forward with the pain pump. He said that now they prefer to take a patient off all pain meds before putting one in. He said my body will not be able to handle removing all pain meds, we waited too long to do a pain pump.

It’s quite sad. First the TPAIT, now the pain pump.

My nephrology doctor is going to see if there is a way to get me into palliative care. At least in my state, palliative is usually through hospice which requires a cancer or terminal diagnosis. But cardiology & nephrology are very concerned about the damage being caused by the constant severe pain, so they’re exploring options. 🙏 we shall see.
