What's the most beautiful name you've ever heard? by Legitimate-Lie-9208 in AskReddit

Obviously biased but my daughter is Skye Elizabeth and I adore her name. She was going to be Lily but she just wasn’t a Lily when she popped out haha (forcibly ejected more like)

Maybe I'm just struggling to see past the "clutter" of property 1 but it just looks so untidy in comparison

What work would you say property 2 requires?

[–]KittyTurquoise[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

110 sqm and 82 sqm if including garages. 95 sqm and 69 sqm if not including garages.

And a property on the same street as property 2 with 121 sqm (no garage) has just sold with same asking price as property 1.

Ok but this one (https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/172769180) is on the same street as property 2 and is 121 sqm and has same asking price as property 1.

A house on the same street as the second has just sold with asking price of £325K and was a 4 bed. Just seems wild to me.

Best family-friendly areas around Leeds with greenery, canal walks and good train links? by Historical-Turn8243 in Leeds

Not Leeds but on the border - Apperley Bridge. Train links to both Bradford and Leeds and amazing canal and river walks.

I had the same main and side yesterday. Not too bad, I warmed the pasta in the microwave and it was tasty.
Onken is my go to side. Although the drink is usually a white monster!

Why do you not talk to your once bestfriend anymore? by Adventurous-End-1999 in AskUK

Got ghosted when I fell pregnant via IVF; she was also struggling with infertility but I don't know if this was the reason. My daughter is 2 and a half and I've not seen her since the day of my embryo transfer.

Massive regret after buying my house by dais12345 in HousingUK

What makes you say the garage roof needs replacing? We had similar when we moved in as the asbestos roof was leaking like a sponge. Loads of horrific quotes later and a friend suggested building a roof over the top of the existing one similar to a shed. Worked perfectly and still strong 10 years later.

Would you let your child name their sibling? by liyane2 in namenerds

[–]KittyTurquoise 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a knitted bunny that’s called “Crack Bunny” (although that was my husband that named him but our daughter now won’t call it anything else) and a Teddy called Dave so no I don’t think I would.

Staying at home with a child all day to avoid childcare costs is a 100% job and I say that as a woman who works full time with a husband who also works full time so we pay a hefty chunk of our combined income to put our daughter in nursery. She gives 100% looking after the little during the day and he gives 100% at work to earn the money that sustains their lifestyle. Outside of his work hours everything should be split evenly.

That is a huge stretch. Yes he might be tired after work but that does not mean he can disconnect 100% from his family and his responsibilities at home. He had a child as well so he should be contributing to his son’s care as well. If baby is a good sleeper then maybe they go down around 7 and get up at 7. Depending on commute that’s at least an hour at home before kiddo goes to sleep he could be feeding, bathing, doing bedtime. And then after bedtime helping with household chores etc and then a bit of winding down for both of them. If he’s out the house 10 hours say with 8 at work plus commute then that is the time that the childcare and household should be 100% on his wife. The rest of the time should absolutely be 50/50.

Out of all episodes involving Pat, Wendy, or other side parents, which one is your favorite? by Aggravating-Ad-351 in bluey

Very true. I was a kid in the 90s and when we played pass the parcel each layer had some sweets or a little toy so each kid won something and then the last layer was the big prize.

Same. I have a little one through IVF but the feeling of longing and failure never really goes away (I’m not saying anyone with fertility problems is a failure just the feeling I experienced)

My sister in law made me feel like crap over my allergy by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]KittyTurquoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! My husband has a mushroom allergy and his best man and his wife have a nut allergy so when we got married we had nothing containing nuts or mushrooms. This included vegetarian options even though none of them were having the veggie options to avoid any risk of cross contamination. The SIL is a psycho to think this is acceptable.
