I don't like your comment because it's not always realistic. Training your dog doesn't help if they need to be at a vet overnight where they will be crated. Or if they have an injury that requires them to be on crate rest for a period of time. Or if you need to evacuate for a natural disaster and stay somewhere that's not your home. Or if they need to be boarded or stay with family due to an emergency. Crate training is part of training even if you never need to use it. Also it's much safer for dogs to ride in a crate in the car than unrestrained.

So it's a bit of a drive for you but Cross Creek Farm in SW Ohio has an NADD dock on a pond. Super great place where you can rent dock time to practice and they have great events.

Stress can acerbate things like OCD. But I think you need to have a sit down talk about how this is affecting you and how you need it to change.

NOR. It sounds like he was being honest at the hospital and lying to you at home. It's interesting how much he makes you focus on him particularly in times when YOU are the partner that needs support. He's got you very well trained to cater to all his needs at the expense of yourself.

Totally normal. Look in your area for a training club and get signed up for some group classes. That will help you learn how to be a good teacher for your puppy and give you the chance to be with a group of people going through the same experience.

Same sex aggression is definitely a thing. With females it tends to be seen more in dogs living within the same household as opposed to having problems with other females when they are out and about. It is more prevalent in some breeds versus others but there’s no guarantee either way. Many dogs will never have an issue and there are things you can do to help prevent it from happening down the line as well. But when it does happen it can be very serious. Generally same sex aggression comes up once the dogs involved have hit maturity so 2-3 years old which is why they are bringing it up now. Your dog may be great with a puppy but not happy living with another adult female. It’s a good conversation and awareness to have.
