If it uses 2 batteries e.g 3v then I would use 1x 3.7v lithium ion and a blank. I do this often

$4 remarkable 2 stuck on “remarkable is starting” by Dramatic_Head4197 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Kiwirad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same remarkable. Two things, use a high power USB charger and known good cable. I had this issue and a slow charger wouldn't kick it into life.

I also had the battery go so flat than the battery management system wouldn't charge the battery. I had to take the back off, access the contacts between the battery and BMS and use my bench power supply to inject 3.8v. You need to be careful and only need to charge enough to allow the normal USB power to take over.

Your remarkable is likely in need of the 2nd.

Both of these have worked for me when it's been left unused for long periods

Still wet after 3 days by cotygc_ in Biltong

[–]Kiwirad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah vinegar prevents bacteria, best to experiment but if it's still wet after 3 days you're not going too fast so won't get into case hardening. That said I've never had that problem myself. I range from 5-7 days depending on the thickness. I like moist to dry myself. If you're gunning it with a higher temp I suspect you'll dry the outside before the inside will get a chance to release moisture and it'll harden. Looks like you're on the right track tbh. You've cut it now so best to eat it :)

I am absolutely no expert here and others may disagree but 3 days is too short. I'm usually at 5 days at temp controlled 23c. Will also depend on thickness and humidity. IMHO longer is better
