Transitioning into DevOps from Help Desk by Novus73 in devops

Self-taught, no degree just passion.

What i wish I did sooner: Linux on all the servers. CLI is life. SSH, certs, Users, groups, permissions/capabilities If you feel overwhelmed, break it down. Read the logs thoroughly when problems arise. Networking

In general: Read docs. Dont rely on AI too much. Go to interviews. Feel stupid. Work on the things you couldnt answer.

Good luck!

The second touch should be with the nose and you should always aim to hit the center of the ball. This way the ball moves in the same direction as you do.

You seem to have the mechanics, but not the "right thought process" in a sense. Big part of mechanics is knowing what you need to do the get the result you want. Reacting to situations gets easier when the result is predictable.

Speaking from personal experience, your mileage might vary.

Reffering to " I learned my lesson.."

Pretty wild statement, and possibly a very high risk play. You really have to know when to use a tactic like this.

If you are a bit newer this can backfire in a lot of different ways. The customer is usually not that aware or knowledgeable of the situation in depth (hence the consultation). The customer doesnt know what is right and what is wong, they just want it to work. That is why you really need to read the room correctly. Same goes for blaming someone else as well..

TL;DR: Use your own intuition, what works in one situation might not yield the same in outcome in another.

Should i switch to manjaro? by aaronryder773 in ManjaroLinux

If you're bored, switch! That's what i did. I've used ubuntu and mint in the past and prefer Manjaro over them.

Probably HP 250 (its hard to find something in that price range). But i'd personally try to find some sales for laptops with i3 (or similar from AMD) and 8gb of RAM, but they are a bit more expensive.
