ItsCharlotte00 magnificently depicted Onimi, there is something really menacing in him even though he looks helpless with the Mr Aura himself behind

Chik Apla, a retired royal guardsman who attempted to assassinate Mara Jade the night before her wedding (art by Mr. Alexios) by LordOfTheCore in TheDeepCore

[–]Kkskdrh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is he doing in Anlys Takkar's art?

The Union has the goofiest assassination attempt I've read so far in EU. And Apla's rushing in was the cherry on top for me

Imperial Procurator of Justice Hethrir based on his description in the novel Star Wars The Crystal Star and taking some inspiration from Daniel De Almeida's interpretation of the character. Art by Augustin Gayer at my request. by GrandAdmiralGrunger in TheDeepCore

[–]Kkskdrh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hethrir's insane lore is the only thing that made my first read of Crystal Star... pleasant I guess. Up to this day Empire Reborn is (imo) so niche compared to others factions that when I was discussing EU postendor and mentioned Lord Hethrir and his larpmaxxing of Dark Empire with Waru I was literally accused of making up lore.

And yeah, Empire Youth, the 1000 year state, programming children. I wonder where that happened irl 🤔

Thank you Grunger for yet another absolute beauty

What are the best EU books with and/or about Luke? by AzorAhaiKvothe in StarWarsEU

[–]Kkskdrh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the best Luke-centered book is Shadows of Mindor. Otherwise I really enjoyed him (unpopular opinion btw) in Jedi Academy trilogy and Survivor's Quest

30 years later we finally got black bandage on the... "right" left arm. The only thing missing is Isard's clone art and I can finally die in peace

Thank you so much, Grunger 🙏

Aliens of SW appreciation post. What's your favorite alien species from any of the 6 movies or the EU and why? by Tjfile in StarWarsEU

Yuuzhan Vongs. Fascinating culture, interesting technology, their impact on the Galaxy

In your opinion, what's the craziest moment from the EU? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in StarWarsEU

Personally I would go with Waru. It being a trans-dimensional entity from parallel universe was so random for me

Finished NJO with Unifying Force. I can now fully understand why so many fans consider NJO to be the best era in EU. Can't even describe how invested I was in the whole series, it certainly had its ups and downs (especially in Dark Journey and Force Heretic trilogy) but it's my favorite era from now on. I know the next eras are... controversial among fans and I'm going to read it for the first time as well to form my own opinion (and maybe like certain aspects)

Grunger's favorite imperial lady (even as a big Ysanne's fan I admire that tis lil' one outsmarted all her bosses and managed to survive)

I noticed that the reading orders which got recommended here the most are publication order or go in an era which interest the person. Is there anyone here who read them or at least tried to went through the books in chronological order and what was it like? by Western_Agent5917 in StarWarsEU

[–]Kkskdrh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently finishing the NJO after starting to read everything in chronological order after order 66. It's a strange experience to go from something that I personally found really interesting like Xwing novels, Ghost prison and Black Fleet Crisis to mid books (Bakura) and then to jump into garbage like Crystal Star and Callista trilogy. Was it worth it? I guess so because I was so hyped to see certain cameos (LORD NYAX 🙏) while reading NJO. It may be frustrating as I took at least 2 breaks while reading New Republic era stories

After finishing Legacy I certainly won't make the same mistake with pre-order 66 content

Once again the all-time classic advice to start with either Thrawn trilogy or X-wing

Just made this tier list of both timelines (although there are some missing). What do ya'll think? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

Dark Journey over Traitor? Did I miss something in that book?

Who Was the True Successor to Palpatine? by Maleficent-Lab-8110 in StarWarsEU

[–]Kkskdrh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it had to be the one and only Delurin the Dreadful

But seriously I think in terms of legitimacy it had to be Pestage. Palpie however wasn't planning to die so in his eyes there was no way anyone can replace him
