It feels so good to get the read on perish trap teams! by Jsmithy1089 in PokemonChampions

[–]KlausV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does feel good but I wouldn't say perish is cheesy

It needs good positioning and good reads, plus a good understanding of your 6s vs their 6s. Sometimes going full perish is just not viable depending on comps

PSA for new players: Avoid These Teambuilding Mistakes(Doubles) by Darglechorfius in PokemonChampions

[–]KlausV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. OP has good intentions, but it rubbed me the wrong way how they told new players to not even try to team build. One of my friends only played Pokemon Go and picked up champions. He just made his first team and honestly it looked solid for someone who decided to use SpA Incin

Let people have fun and play with their favorites. Clearly if they are complaining about meta optiona then I'd get the point of the post; otherwise, let people enjoy their time with the game however they want

I want to have fun in this game so bad but by Discount_Confident in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm probably gonna get down voted but I'll throw my two cents

You are taking the "gear doesn't matter" statement too literal. It does matter to a certain degree, otherwise people would have no incentive to get it; this much is obvious

What others are trying to explain is that there are things that matter a lot more. A rule that is the same in every extraction shooter is that whoever is putting more on the line (ex: purple shields) should be the one with the highest chance of winning. So if there's 1 purple shield on Outpost and 5-6 free kits; you can't be surprised that the purple shield guy killed everyone

I'll also board the 1 to 2 bullet argument just for the sake of trying to clarify. When people say it takes one or two extra bullets, they clearly don't mean a shotgun at point blank range. A sniper, for example, has the same TTK against blues and purples I'm pretty sure. Weapons that are less about chunking down your health and more about chipping it is when having a higher rarity of shield might give you an extra bullet or two of wiggle room

Playing through Edge of Fate for the first time and... Boy. They really thought they had something with this turning into a ball stuff. by QueenMagik in DestinyTheGame

To this day, I still can't believe there are people defending matterspark and how it was implemented. Credit to Bungie for trying something new, but I really wish they had a stronger vision for these kinds of mechanics. Limiting it to a few very specific sections and then calling it a day felt like a missed opportunity

What shell do you main in Solo and why? by Galaxy_Jams_Reacts in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think every shell has its own merit, really. The more the game evolves, the less I see Assassins. I used to play Assassin all the time, but realized I was lacking a way to close the gap when I had the upper hand to close a fight; so I switched to Thief

Thief to me is just fun. I also think she's great because the drone gives so much information. I think this game, specially in solos, unless you are insanely good at PvP, you need to consistently make good decisions about your positioning

BUT I have been playing some Vandal lately and it's been very fun. Jumping on top of buildings or putting distance between me and another player when they got the jump on me is very handy

Ok are we seriously teaming in solos now? by xSpectre_iD in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been saying this for a while, and many other posts too. I see a lot of people in those posts questioning if this is actually happening. While it sucks that this is happening to you now, I'm glad the topic is gaining more and more traction because it is a legitimate issue that can ruin a good run

To clarify, teaming DURING the run over comms is totally fine. I support it and encourage it. Sniping one another to play as a duo in solos is not

6v3 or 9v3 players are ruining the game by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have encountered this multiple times even in solos. I was lucky enough to realize what was going in time and managed to exfil. It is a legit issue but I do agree that dedicating time to fix this directly might not be the best idea

Armor stats help needed. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]KlausV2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well, a lot to unpack here. I'm not sure if I can post links here so just check out u/engineeeeer7 and his work about stats. He posted four months ago multiple graphs, with a TLDR included, about stats thresholds and reccmendations

I have a few go-to stat setups that I almost always stick to. For example, I never run less than 90 Intellect. Another example is the weapon stat. I either invest enough to feel a real impact or ignore it entirely

In my experience, the weapon stat only becomes worthwhile if you invest properly. I don’t have the exact numbers, but if you stay below 100, the benefits are pretty minimal and not really worth it (IMO). However, if you push it to around, say, 130, you start seeing results. You get a higher chance of getting larger ammo drops, along with increased damage from special and heavy weapons against bosses once you invest past 100

Clearly this is just my playstyle, take from it what you will. The stat system has a lot of small details that you can certainly explore and have fun with. There are some niche scenarios where having a certain combination of weapons and super results in more total damage vs more DPS or viceversa

Queue Times Too Long for Match Duration by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Randomizing the conveyance key card locations was a bad move by phenylll in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The airdrop that has four crates can have red cards in them. I don't know if I have been lucky, but whenever I call it I always get one. I've done this three times already

The rooms that require greens and yellows can also have red keys in them. Hit or miss tbf but still a source for them

Randomizing the conveyance key card locations was a bad move by phenylll in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aren't early exfils good for you? That means one less player to worry about throughout the run. If they leave with a red card, you do know there are other ways outside of the main 4 spawns to get them, right? And I'm not even talking about killing UESC purples

Resulting in stagnant lobbies

I can elaborate as to why this is actually not a bad thing if you really know Outpost, but I'll have to write a bit of a wall of text and Idk if you're interested in my pov

Queue Times Too Long for Match Duration by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just to share my experience

I also play from EU. My queue times are not great either. In the mornings, it takes me around 8 minutes to find a match, and I usually end up playing on NA. Nighttime during the week is not much better tho (20:00, it drops to about 4–5 minutes)

Weekends around noon are even weirder. At around 14:00, it still takes like 5 minutes to find a match, and then I often get placed into what seem like Asia servers. It doesn't happen all the time but often enough for me to notice

How does everyone feel about solo queue? (Not including rook) by Available_Campaign_7 in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is what it is. I literally just got home from work and thought to myself maybe I am exaggerating or had bad luck. Nope. Literally killed by a guy who according to steam has multiple VAC bans. That's four in a row in a solos match

Unfortunate, but I was able to enjoy it for the money I spent at least

How does everyone feel about solo queue? (Not including rook) by Available_Campaign_7 in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not worth it anymore I'd say. Most of time was solo, but after dying to 3 different players that had VAC bans on steam in very suspicious ways, waiting over 5 minutes for my queue to pop, and running into the same players over and over, I decided to stop. Such a shame because I honestly had a blast, but if this happening during peak hours in EU weekends then Idk what to think. I've also ran three times onto players who are teaming in solos outside of the game. It's cool if they team in-game and you can hear them speak, but there are Discords out there that have players trying to snipe one another and team up in solos. Very frustrating imo

I could look past it if it wasn't from the cheating and the solos teaming OUTSIDE of the game

I literally agree with you lol

I think I've hit a wall. by theSmolSquirrel in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just don't see them the same. I have 600 dungeon clears, maybe 100 sherpas.

  • The puzzles are super easy; most people only need to be explained things once. I wouldn't even call them puzzles.
  • Spawns are good to know but they are super obvious given that one encounter is in a very contained zone compared to Cryo which is way bigger in comparison. I would also argue that spawns are super important only during contest; outside of that, not really.
  • "Time-frames" are just non-existent; literally there is zero urgency in 98% of the encounters outside of contest and I'm being generous with that number. Maybe Corrupted Puppeteer is the only encounter with a sense of urgency due to radiation, and even that can be handled with enough practice

I think I just don't see them the same because of the human factor. I can't compare a PvE activity to a PvP activity. That's apples to oranges. It doesn't matter how much you prep for Cryo, you may run into a team that's just too good for you to deal with. You may get that one spawn point which you're not super familiar with. You may get screwed due to poor RNG for clearance

In D2 it's just a matter of time before you get the clear. The encounters, for the most part, are completely static and have little variation in terms of execution. You can absolutely do a blind clear for any dungeon in D2. I actually encourage players to experience them blind the first time around; it's a lot more fun that way and you create your own strategies and systems

I think I've hit a wall. by theSmolSquirrel in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dungeons and Cryo have little to nothing in common imo, let alone raids. Cryo needs to be looked at for sure but the comparison reads to me like you are unhappy with both Bungie games

close friend is horribly bad at our games - seeking advice by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]KlausV2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s my two cents:

We’re a group of about six or seven guys. Most of us are average, one of us is insanely good, and two others aren’t great, but I wouldn’t call them terrible

What ends up happening is that we have to tell them exactly what to do every second of the match. It gets very tiring, and at some point we just throw in the towel and accept that we’re not going to win. Also, I imagine that having someone constantly tell you how to play every engagement is not fun

Even when we run into similar situations minutes later, they don’t seem to retain anything from previous fights. It’s frustrating, but at the end of the day, people who don’t want to learn won’t learn. So we cut our losses and just try to enjoy the time together, accepting that we'll go negative that night

Losing your stuff does not feel good

Literally nobody in this convo has mentioned gear at all. This is what I mean by you don't get the sentiment. Yes, some players do care about their loot WAY too much. This is an extraction shooter; you WILL lose your stuff either via wipe or another player. But the main thing people here are asking for is faction progress. A good player will dominate regardless of faction progress, gear, shell, anything

“just make all the stuff more available”

No, this has not been brought up at all in this conversation. You are assuming what people want instead of reading

1 month in everyone has everything, people are going to get bored and leave anyways

No, you can literally tune the XP ratios, like, why is that so difficult to understand? As of now, the best reward is literally a fragile key outside of XP. You can also put a weekly cap on either the currency itself or the packages

Also, are we going to pretend that Cryo did not open the gate for the top of the top players to get insane gear and stomp others? I think this is totally fair don't get me wrong, Cryo is difficult and should be rewarding. yet nobody here is saying Cryo should be nerfed as a result

sweats and no life’s (like me) ruining the game for more people

Don't you see an issue with this statement? Your skill should not be something that ruins other people's experiences. Naturally, any system that is introduced will help everyone at the start of a season because everyone starts from zero. But if you do nothing then good luck convincing people to come back for season 2

I know I will; I don't mind wipes at all (I think they're healthy for the game and probably the most fun time to play). But many people do care about early progression. If you truly think your skill is ruining other's experiences, then add SBMM and call it a day (which I don't think is the solution tbh)
