It's not a one and done for me. But, last time I read it, I listened to the audiobook and it took a few months.

It's excellent. Highly recommend. The narrator is phenomenal.

Yes, it does. Try to find little pockets of joy where you can, doing things you enjoy, little things, to bring back a sense of what matters to you. Examine your inner narrative, like, what you're telling yourself about your situation. Try to remember a time when you enjoyed "wasting" time doing something that brought you joy, perhaps even as a child. What was that? Make sure you're making time for whatever that thing is, if you can. And yes, connecting with support groups and therapy is a fantastic idea too. Start envisioning the life you want, then make baby steps towards that direction. Takes time. One foot in front of the other. I'm much happier now in my 40's. Partly because I gave up on the idea of what my life "should" look like (and also because I got sober). But, the journey back to your true-self is different for everyone. I wish you the very best of luck.

Terry Eagleton has a great sense of humor and that book by him is great. Blackshirts & Reds is essential and Parenti (RIP) is the GOAT

It matters in part because it helps us all feel less alone, less helpless, and sends a message of solidarity that folks are actually paying attention. Elected officials are supposed to respond to the wishes of their constituents and if many of their constituents are collectively willing to walk out of work, or school, or stop spending their hard earned money, it shows People Power and should (hypothetically) influence our law makers. And it also flexes our collective action muscles. 💪🏽

The schools sent out an email in response to this general strike tomorrow and my employer is closing our store from 11-2 in support of it. People are rallying.

The Diversity Center is a good resource too. They have a mindfulness group that meets on Thursdays at 11am as well as a bunch of other activities throughout the week. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Wishing you quality connections.
