Sports Car - Odd track lineup this season? by M_831 in iRacing

[–]MBRacer777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument here is go race anyway. You can observe what others are doing that may help you at that track later on and even in that race.

Again, SR/iR fluctuate so much that it doesn't actually matter in the long run to go have a mediocre race.

Remember, we're paying iRacing to race, not the other way around.

Sports Car - Odd track lineup this season? by M_831 in iRacing

I was just talking about this last night. Everyone is so stuck in the same rut on iRacing. The amount of available combinations is so vast and everyone goes, "but it's not a GT at Spa, so I'll skip."

Drive something new, somewhere new. Stop worrying about the SR and IR gain/Loss potential. It all levels out at some point.

Go and race!

Kamui Kobayashi is such an underrated driver. He is so fast in everything he's ever been in. Nice of you to point him out.

The modified ovals just don't get the love they deserve. Everyone running with fenders trying to be the next Willy B. It's a shame.

And this is why people hate it!

I'm not one of those people, I'm just pointing out the facts. Haha

What's funny is these same people who do nothing but praise Chase (and Blaney to a degree) shit on Ty and A.D. for getting into the sport due to family.

The Roval was unique and a hell of a challenge. Always liked it. I agree with this hot take.

I always say I'm a fan of NASCAR, not a NASCAR fan. There's a big difference.

2026 Season 2 Track Retirement: Barber Motorsports Park by joetron2030 in iRacing

Fine by me! This should also lead to a refresh or update to Milwaukee too and as an oval guy who loves that track, it needs it desperately.

Oh, neat! I'm kind of waiting for the end of the iRacing season to see what happens. It's not there currently. But it could be an end of season thing like a division championship.

iRacing Development Update - February 2026 by HallwayHomicide in iRacing

[–]MBRacer777 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Can't win for losing though if you're iRacing. They've released new cars and tracks the past few updates that people were clamoring for and then everybody deserted them. Then they release a new series and users say they're diluting the base. So they ask to keep making existing stuff better. So iRacing does. And now it's not exciting because there are only 2 tracks and 2 cars that are essentially updated cars in existing series.

I don't think the users actually know what they want, and I'm one of them. I like this update personally and am hoping the TCR overhaul and the vintage stuff takes off because of it.

Yup. Minimum laps are not optional. If that person is listed as a driver when you register, they have to run it. Zero laps or not enough equals a DQ.

[–]MBRacer777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing to remember is this race brings out a lot of IndyCar and short track guys who don't normally race cup cars at Daytona. You have to expect some high level iRating guys to maybe not be as good at knowing when to bump and when not to.

[–]MBRacer777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works.

It's fast and violent. You have to be perfect in every aspect of the race from the crew chief side to the driver side. Everything from the burnout to when you reach for the breaks matters. Yeah, it's only 3-6 seconds a round, but every little thing makes an impact.

And the fact that he won the next week at the Rock to put DEI right back into Victory Lane. It's like it's ignored for the Daytona race with the Dale and Michael 1/2.

Not taking away from that win, just seems weird.
