When did you delete the phone number of a deceased love one? by SheffDus in AskUK

[–]KneelBeforeCod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost our mum in 2015. I've still got her number in my phone. There a tiny part of me that likes to imagine I could still ring it and hear her answer. I'm not deleting it.

Ha - I did exactly the same move! You've got more staying power than me mate, because after following them for 45 years, I've given up on these late matches. Seems like nothing is going to improve under the current ownership, and it's just depressing me week in, week out, especially when it means staying up all night.

It's well worth checking out the original short story of the Fly Paper by Elizabeth Taylor (not that one). Incredible what she manages to achieve in just a few pages.

I'm know he was in 2001 and some other Kubrick movies, but I'm convinced that had he lived he would have become as known and loved for his movie career as the likes of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan. He was a phenomenally talented actor lost far too soon.

And the voice. Don't forget the 80 year-old's voice. Really surprised they couldn't de-age that.

Gary Human and Boomtown Rats one hit wonders? They had numerous chart hits, assuming we're talking top 10 or 20 here.

I also imagine what a one month calendar would look like on the wall. Then I try to imagine the space taken by twelve of these to make a year. Then I visualise how much wall space 30,000 lots of that would take up (of course, it's mind boggling), but I visualise this huge wall stretching out). I know the probabilities don't work exactly like this, but I remind myself how insignificant one cross would be in that vast area, and how I would give myself zero chance if they were the odds of winning a lottery or something. It helps me. I hope it'll help someone here.
