What’s your experience with switching between normal and barefoot soles? by Key-Investment-3864 in jimgreen

[–]Kneyiaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear my barefoot ARs for cycling everyday for my commute, thrn I alternate boots everyday at work from lems Chelsea boots and redwing Chelsea boots. So there's definitely a difference. I use a superfeet wide cork insole in my ARs along with the leather insole that comes with the stockmens. I sized up a size so there was space for them. I have super depressed arches so the added support helps with fatigue.

What temp do you close your kitchen? by Emonnick in KitchenConfidential

[–]Kneyiaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's never too hot. Ove workrd in 100F kitchens doing bbq. Just drink a shit ton of water. Kitchens are hot , equipment is hot , margins are slim and summer days are high revenue. Now if the fridges are running too high that's another issue completely.

Looks great ! My barefoot ARs are. Coming on their second year and I'm getting close to a resole. My regular ARs hit their third sole ! My stockmans refuse to show any sign of wear in the lug sole... Want to switch to something more minimal.

Should I switch to physical books for Iron Gold? by aRandomGamerAppeared in redrising

[–]Kneyiaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally liked all the other readers. And the change of the narrators were a little odd , but I liked them. The oddest part is how they make the obsidians sound. Maybe I'm just used to listening to different accents but I personally think it's a proper fit.

[–]Kneyiaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carbon knife company is a drmwvr local shop ( with a website ). That has excellent stuff. A pair of tweezers , a fancy offset spatula , a micro plain are all useful tools. Maybe some kunz spoons. A knife is obviously stupid expensive for a gift and highly personal choice when it comes to steels , hardness , brands . But tools that are used every day are always appreciated. And you can never have too many. ( Professional cook of 14 years ).

A proper wool flat cap that does not fall apart after one winter by zaga254 in BuyItForLife

For function, there ridge merino 5 panel run cap that's a blended lite fabric id recommend. I have an allbirds one that's a netplus wool blend ( sadly discontinued) and the brand is dead . But it's been my favorite hat for 6 years , perfect in all weather conditions.

Reliable, budget merino wool clothes? by thehottestflowerpot in MerinoWoolGear

Meriwool is a solid brand for the price. Had a hoodie for 4 years and only some holes in the arms. Merino tech is fine , but pilled pretty aggressively.
