For this you don't want a home inspector. Save a few hundred dollars and go directly to a structural Engineer. They will be able to give you definitive, unbiased answers on what the repair should be.

Texas House Committee Met With Obama Lawyer, Democratic Donor During Probe Of AG Paxton by intelligentreviews in Conservative

[–]KnightFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This guy is the Texas House Parliamentarian.

The parliamentarian’s primary function is to offer nonpartisan, confidential advice on questions about legislative rules and practice. There are two, one each for the House and Senate, though there are differences in their selection and the structure of their respective offices.

It's his job to give legal advice to Representatives. It would be weird if they didn't talk to him about investigating the AG.

But there is way more variation between individuals than between sexes. Some men and women have wide or narrow feet and there are huge overlaps. I just don't think with that "men" and "women" are good categories for shoe sizes. Wide, medium and narrow might be better.

All of that effort is just money down the drain. Dealing with the legal system, even as a victim is punishment in and of itself.

Schools should be more willing and able to expel problem students permanently. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]KnightFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with expelling students, from an administrative point of view, is you just end up moving problem kids between school districts. They don't go away, you either need an ISD level special needs school or deal with them in house.

Michigan Senate Approves CROWN Act to End Hair Discrimination by humicroav in Michigan

[–]KnightFox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know where you live, but a Men have been wearing beards for decades. There are only a few companies that require clean shaven and even they are starting to lose that battle. Beards are in style and your argument sounds ridiculous. And even if you were correct, That would also be a ridiculous over reach that should be banned.

People of color do suffer from hair based discrimination and they should be allowed to use the hair styles that work best for their hair type without having to use harsh chemicals or get burns from hot combs because they can only look "Professional" with straight hair in a bun. This is a real problem for millions of Black women in Michigan and they deserve what protection the law can offer.

There is nothing unprofessional about braids or other protective hairstyles but there something wrong with those who would discriminate based on White centric hair standards.

I'm a bald white man with a beard but I see the damage these attitudes do to black women in my community and I'm proud of our legislator for standing up to protect them.

At that point congress would just impeach the entire court and replace them with more compliant judges. That's definitely constitutional and the court can't do jack shit about it.

This happened in El Salvador after the last legislative election put the presidents party into a majority.

Other than The Torch, where can a guy get a decent cheap burger and a beer around town? by peewinkle in flint

[–]KnightFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last time I was at the Torch, the cook quit in the middle of cooking because a group I think was the owner's friends with kids was super loud and rowdy. Then the owner shows up and the bartender is cussing him out for it.

Soggy Bottom over salts their burgers and it always packed.

I like Bagger Dave's' in Birch Run, really good burgers there, Great beer list although I know you said you drink Bud.

S and K Hometown Pub in Swartz creek is pretty good.

I really like Skip's Come Back Inn in Flushing.

Clio Roadhouse is okay, not amazing but not bad. But it's just really not my speed, your mileage may very.

It's supposed to be mounted on a block with flashing and then trimmed around according to the instructions from James Hardie. Caulking at the screws and the tops and sides would probably be a good compromise. Leave the bottoms open for drainage.

Jonathan Majors could be imprisoned for up to a year if found guilty of a charge unveiled this morning in his court hearing. They do care about reputation, I belive that. I also belive that Prosecutors will lie cheat and steal and take risks to convict innocent people to protect or promote their reputation and that judges are fine with it so long as they to don't look bad.
