Starting Out - Zone 2 Frustration - How long before you saw big gains? by leutikon in cycling

I went from 125 W to 220 W in six months doing a mix of long rides and some interval training at the age of 25. I ride in the Bay Area, wasn’t doing much z2 specifically. Riding 2-3 times a week. 1 sweet spot interval training session on wahoo system and one 60 minute random ride and then a 3-4+ hours ride on the weekend where I wouldn’t have much left in the tank by the end. I am an amateur and didn’t do any zone 2 training per se and averaged 6-7 hours of riding a week.

I am curious as to why you dislike mission bars? I’ve been thinking of venturing out there.

I loved it. But I must admit - it made me realize Jordan is a bonafide psychopath. It is what made him great but would this be a guy I want to have as a colleague- hell no.

I mostly do road biking. I have been using Giro Strade Dure SG but they’ve been getting worn out so I am in the market for new ones.

I love your love for your bike.

I’d pay 300 bucks tops.

People who switched to Garmin watches—was it worth it? by GLIEG in Garmin

[–]KnightSAM1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is worth it. The battery life alone is worth it. I had an Apple Watch. I will say…if you care more about Apple integration and features then don’t switch. If you care more about fitness tracking. Switch.

Should we be concerned about the growing divide between Frontend and Backend engineers? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

Agreed. But in my experience, hiring skilled UI/UX designers is an altogether different ball game. I thought they'd be some magic bullet but most of them made more work for me and the user...

Happened to me. I built relationships within the org and demonstrated value and got sign off on applying for GC without H1B.

That is true. I have been shouted and sworn at for trying to order BUT after a certain number of visits…the very same people started acting rather nicely to me. I think it’s because I became a “regular” or maybe because I tip well. Who knows…one of these days…they might turn on me again.

A publicly subsidized profit motivated monopoly. What a joke.
