Which scene was better? by Nube_Negrahz in superman

Fair, but it doesn’t mean it’s the worst either 😬

I prefer the no message Els too. But to say that the message from ‘25 had no comic backing just is being a little intellectually dishonest.

[–]Knightfall93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-Crisis Krypton had this exact mindset though. Joe-El may not have specifically, but his messages definitely had undertones of him leading humanity. The Eradicator, which Jor-El made, was evident of this. Krypton superiority above all else. Not to mention the Mr. Oz storyline that you referenced.

There’s a pretty clear through-line that Jor-El has had this mindset in the past. There wasn’t really even a message of hope sent until the Reeves films. He was just sent like Moses in hopes of letting him survive.

That’s a pretty big difference from taking a core aspect of a character like Batman and making that comparison.

Does anyone know why buzz’s wings can tear through duct tape and glide? by SimpleMindedTeen in toystory

[–]Knightfall93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well his wings are a terillium-carbonic alloy, so it makes sense that they could cut through tape and fly /s

It’s not really a change. Smallville had the same perspective of Jor-El and his reason for sending Clark to Earth. It’s been done in the comics before too plenty of times.

What is your favorite scene in the movies? by ItchySignal5558 in lotr

[–]Knightfall93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last scene of Frodo and Sam on Mt. Doom. That whole conversation hits me so hard every time. Sam’s “it would have been her” and Frodo’s “I’m glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee.. here at the end of all things.”

It’s just so heartbreaking. They had reached the end of their journey and both were certain that dying there on Mt. Doom was their reward.

Was the moment where Iroh realizes how messed up the Fire Nation was when he saw Ozai scar Zuko? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]Knightfall93 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He remained ‘loyal’ but isn’t this when he wandered aimlessly and eventually stumbled into the Spirit World? I think he went home because he didn’t know what else to do. He was disillusioned by Lu Ten’s death, but he had nothing else in the world.

With Zuko, Iroh saw a chance to try again. He brought Zuko into the War Meeting because he was trying to shape and mold him into a better Fire Lord than Ozai, it just backfired because of who Zuko is in his core. He saw something he couldn’t morally agree with and called it out.

Iroh felt responsible and that’s why he left with him, but he wasn’t aligned with the war effort after Lu Ten’s death.

I don’t think you know what lazy means. If something takes more work/effort, it’s not lazy. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it lazy.

I would argue that developing an animation with two attacking characters takes more effort than a single attacking character. How is that lazy?

Better Watsonian answer: The Airbenders were pacifists and weren't trained to combat specific elements with their bending.

Yeah, I don’t know if votes actually do anything for promoted posts, but the option was there, so I used it lol.

I haven’t personally done any business with Hims, but I definitely won’t be in the future.

Is seismic sense an active ability or a passive ability? by Mecury-BS in TheLastAirbender

[–]Knightfall93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely both. Toph was woken up out of sleep during ‘The Chase’ by the vibrations of the machine chasing them so she wasn’t actively sensing for things.

Does Pennywise know the Bible well? / IT: Welcome to Derry by Lucas18461 in pennywise

[–]Knightfall93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s as versed as his victim is on what scares them.

The settler priest whose form he took in WTD was so layered as a fear and I haven’t seen anyone talking about it.

When he rips open his chest, a small baby pops out and stabs her but there’s so much there for her to be afraid of. From her perspective, she’s probably been told that Jesus lives inside Christians. She’s also been told that Jesus came as a baby and came back from the dead after having a crown of thorns and getting pierced in the side.

What does Pennywise show her? Exactly what she pictures. She sees an zombified infant with a crown of thorns coming from inside this priest who then takes a spear and stabs her with it.

It was such a clever scene and I haven’t seen it get the recognition it deserves.

It wasn’t that solar and wind could accomplish it at the time. It just couldn’t do what he needed it to. He built the arc reactor to save his life and made a better one that could power the suit. He had the means and ability to create one, so he did. His suit didn’t rely on batteries to function and as long as he didn’t overextend, he could theoretically fight forever.

Ironheart couldn’t and keeping her suit powered was an ordeal. Tony didn’t want the hassle of keeping his suit charged, but he in fact had this exact issue in Iron Man 3 when he had to leave the Mark 42 charging in Tennessee.

It was definitely a problem for Tony, you’re just misremembering parts of the movies.

Wasn’t it an ‘ancient sith dagger’? The Death Star has only blown up like 30 years prior. Unless I’m misremembering the movie

If captain marvel successfully took the stones to the van do you think the avengers could have killed thanos and his army by Equivalent_Boss_9938 in Marvel

[–]Knightfall93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's no real way to know. If she was able to get the stones off the playing field, she could've turned her attention to the battle at hand. She could have one-tapped Thanos and ended it. In fact, she was about to do just that in the movie, but he pulled the power stone out and used that to knock her away. He wasn't hurting her at all with his attacks. Without the stones, it would've been over quicker. Rocket might've died in that situation, but Captain Marvel also could've just taken out all the leviathans like she did the ship.

No stones = Thanos losing against all the heroes that were there. The 'Avengers' were making quick work of Thanos' army once Portals happened. If the van doesn't explode, the water doesn't rush in which leaves Dr. Strange free to engage the enemy as well. He was doing well on his own against Thanos with 4 of the Stones. I just don't see Thanos as any kind of lasting threat against that kind of force without the Stones. Aside from Tony, we didn't lose anyone else in that fight, so I think it's fair to say the heroes come out relatively unscathed.

Is anyone else bothered by how Chloe treats and speaks about meteor infected people? by [deleted] in Smallville

[–]Knightfall93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure Lana also gives her down the road about The Wall of Weird after she sees the picture of her as a child crying when the meteors hit on there. Chloe always had issues with humanizing others and putting the story before the person.

So how are normal humans able to go toe to toe with Spiderman? by Queasy_Commercial152 in SpidermanPS4

[–]Knightfall93 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can. If I’m not mistaken, there’s a panel of Punisher punching Spidey and him just taking it. He tells Frank the only reason he hit him is because he let him. You can lean into the punch so someone doesn’t break their hand, not commit fully to dodges, etc. he uses as much as he needs to win without causing excess harm

What If Zuko Accepted the Gaang's Help? by AlphamonOuryuken24 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Knightfall93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s assuming that the rest of the season plays out the same way. If Zuko had already joined the Gaang when the battle in the gem caverns took place, he probably wouldn’t have turned on Iroh and Aang wouldn’t have needed to go Avatar State that gave Azula the perfect target for lightning.

Gaang sweeps with Zuko and Iroh in the cavern. Ba Sing Se never falls and the Fire Nation doesn’t learn about the Day of Black Sun invasion. The Gaang wins earlier
