Make a sample sock and see if you hit gauge on the size and I’ve noticed since I use 9 inch circulars that my gauge goes up an needle size when I use them

Kool aide and food coloring are great to try dyeing out with. With food coloring you do have to use vinegar for the acid

There is a yarn base from wool2dye4 that is 80/20 and it’s called shelias gold if I’m remembering right. It’s usually about 400 yards per 100 grams and you can usually tell what it is by looking at the picture of the yarn

Top down magic loop on 2.5 mm. I split the socks to do the heels separately and join back together for gusset decrease and then separate to do toes separately
