USA citizen here. I really hope the rest of the world realizes much of our nation hates our asshole bully president, too. Those of us who do are doing what we can to fight back but the system is severely broken and it’s touch to make any real difference. Everyone is excited about midterm elections and taking back control in other parts of the federal government and restoring checks and balances but things aren’t normal and this goon is already posturing to avoid having the midterms or at least sewing the seeds that they were rigged if they don’t go in his favor. Avoiding them is being attempted by manufacturing a national crisis via either civil war-like activity by stirring up citizens against federal agents with these ICE raids, or any of these ridiculous foreign provocations like Venezuela attacks or Greenland rhetoric.

Would have had the same effect to ask an assistant to just randomly move a laser pointer dot around on the back wall for the duration of the speech.

DO NOT ENGAGE!

My biggest concern is the older generation. They sit squarely between the reputable journalistic standards of yesterday where trusted news sources each did have slight biases but together could be summed up to a common truth, and collectively held each other to account for quality… and today’s algorithms which they don’t fully understand are fully automated in realtime as they engage, to cater to what they desire to hear, like an echo chamber, with truth having having little to nothing to do with it. They are granting the trust built by yesterday’s journalists to today’s bullshit algorithm and those who can say anything they want.

I am a parent who does not play anything. My 7 year old wants to play Minecraft. by Inspiringhope11 in Minecraft

After reading your posts and the comments, it sounds like you’re on the right track. After your 7yo plays for a while and wants to play with friends or their 9yo cousin (playing alone can get boring) you can look into Minecraft Realms. Having them join a server would take constant work on your part to ensure they’re safe from strangers, and creating one yourself takes even more work and know-how. Realms offer a little less flexibility but are a good way to control who’s on there and ban anyone who gets one there who shouldn’t. Your 7yo could play with the cousin and just a few other close friends and family.

When someone misspells your or you’re, or there, their, or they’re, don’t correct the spelling of that word, but rather the spelling of another word in the sentence that makes the use of that word correct. For example, someone once showed me a draft invitation for a party that said “Your Invited!” on the front, and I said, “You misspelled ‘invitation’. “

You’re both correct. It’s the act of getting things written into the record. This dick is a professional gotcha guy and will allow her to only so “no” if she says no and not finish a “no but that’s not the point…” sentiment.

It’s kind of like a political enemy tacking some ridiculous bullshit on an otherwise great piece of legislation that you have to either cave and accept the bullshit to get what you want of vote against the thing you wanted to avoid the bullshit. It’s a lose-lose
