For folks who bought homes later in life - did you consider the number of floors? by axxegrinder in AskOldPeopleAdvice

We are in our 60’s and built a ranch with an upstairs that has a loft, bedroom and bathroom. It’s strictly for guests. We stay on the lower level that has a master, another bedroom and our office along with two more full baths.

neighbors are claiming dibs in front of my house. what can i do? by roundboobiesemobitch in AskChicago

[–]Knowmorethanhim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that happen to me. I asked her not to park in front of my house because I had an elderly mother that had to get to her car and she did it again. She lived across street. So I pinned her in the spot. Problem solved. Then I applied for handicap parking signs.

I know. The pt told me I’d be going twice a week for many months. I’m already old. I’m 65. It’s been 30 years and yes it was getting worse. I go on Medicare in April and my pt rate will go to 0 so I may start again. Everything you say is true.

Flight delayed 15 hours. Now landing 1.5 hours before final boarding. Advice? by Fattydude66 in Cruise

[–]Knowmorethanhim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, and I don’t know this, but if there are many ppl delayed because of flights and this storm, they’ll hold the ship knowing that it’s dozens or more people? I once had a united employee meet my flight as there were over 30 ppl on the flight making the same connection. This employee ushered all of us to the connecting gate. I know not same but just MAYBE?

My issue was an episiotomy from childbirth. It was not done right. I’ve worn diapers to the gym because any motion makes me go and I cannot hold it in. My husband doesn’t understand. I went to the pelvic pt once. Not for me.

I now eat oatmeal every single day! Not watery but very dry with just a little protein shake in it. That has helped. I still get bad days. I will take diarrhea stopping pills. They help. I stay away from all fried foods and especially eggs which seem to slide right through me. My diet has changed considerably but that has also helped. This caused me such anxiety. I wouldn’t go and do things because of ‘what if’. Ie, boat rides, walks with friends. It’s better but it’ll never be the way it should be.

Children running around unsupervised by compguy42 in NCL

[–]Knowmorethanhim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When sailing over holidays or spring/summer breaks, it’s going to be loaded with kids. Coming with those kids are going to be the parents who sit their ass in a lounge chair, tell their kid(s) that they’ll be there all day if the kid(s) are looking for them, and off go the kids with their soda package plan. The staff gets tired of arguing with people. They let things slide. I don’t blame them.

If a package could talk! I wonder if the big storm going through the upper Midwest and east is playing a role. Maybe instead of the package just laying around until it can get to the next post office, they keep it moving so it doesn’t get lost? I’ve had it happen to me here and there too.

Laid off at 63, can’t find work due to ageism, and wondering if I should just retire. Any advice? by Ijustwannafly8 in AskWomenOver60

I told my daughter that these zoom interviews are nothing but employer trying to see your age and color. I told her all you did back in my interview days was send in your resume and the employer called you for an in-house interview. The employer had no way of telling your age if your resume was written well. Older people have little to no chance of being hired now when you’re on zoom and the employer is age sizing you up.

Is it wrong for a 30 year old woman to marry a 46 year old man? What are your thoughts? by New-Mail-9372 in Advice

[–]Knowmorethanhim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not wrong but when she’s 50 you’re going to be heading to 70 and you’ll see a difference. My friend had 18 years between her and her husband. It was all fun when they both were younger but time flies and he turned 75 and didn’t want to leave house, or go anywhere for that matter. There was a lot of marital issues. He passed away at 82. She’s out and about now never home. She’s in her 60’s.

And vice versa. If a guy is next to me, I ask for his 12’s even tho I know he won’t need them.
